(Dan Tri) - A representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh said that this unit will coordinate with the Nam Hong Royal Museum to organize a ceremony to recognize the golden seal as a national treasure.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Nguyen The Hong - Director of Nam Hong Royal Museum (Tu Son, Bac Ninh) - who spent more than 6.1 million euros (about more than 153 billion VND) to buy back the gold seal from Millon auction house (France) said that when he heard the news that the gold seal was recognized as a national treasure, he was very happy.
He believes that this recognition will increase the historical and cultural value of the treasure, helping viewers better understand Vietnamese history.
"Around next March, we will hold a ceremony to recognize the Emperor's golden seal as a national treasure," he said.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dap - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh - said that when the Nam Hong Royal Museum holds a ceremony to recognize the golden seal as a treasure, the Department will coordinate to make the ceremony solemn and successful.
"After more than a year of repatriation, the Emperor's golden seal is still displayed and safely and strictly preserved at Tu Son. The museum still limits visitors. The golden seal being recognized as a national treasure is very meaningful," said Mr. Dap.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dap added that Mr. Nguyen The Hong, although the Chairman of the Association for Collecting and Researching Antiques, is a rather private person. He has a great passion for cultural heritage values.
The Emperor's Golden Seal is not the first antique that Mr. Hong has bought from abroad. Previously, this businessman has gone abroad many times to auction, bringing rare Vietnamese antiques back to the country. Once, Mr. Hong went to England, and once, he auctioned online from Vietnam.
The gold seal is 10.4cm high, weighs 10.78kg, has a square face, and measures 13.8x13.7cm.
The Emperor's Golden Seal is exquisitely carved, the pinnacle of carving art.
When returning to Bac Ninh, the treasure was displayed next to the portrait of King Minh Mang and the statue of President Ho Chi Minh.
