(Dan Tri) - A man posted on social media accusing a porridge shop in Dak Lak of "ripping off" customers by 100,000 VND per bowl of oyster porridge. Upon reading the news, the shop owner was shocked and quickly contacted the customer to explain.

On February 7, Facebook spread images and information about a porridge shop in Phuoc An town, Krong Pak district, Dak Lak, accused of "ripping off" customers with the content: "I lost my way and saw the shop selling at midnight. The two of us ate 2 bowls of porridge and the shop owner overcharged us 200,000 VND."

The incident quickly attracted the attention of the online community, causing many controversial debates. Some people said that this price was quite "expensive" and that it might be because the restaurant operates at night, so the price is high. Others said that the price was reasonable, with no signs of "rip-off".

The person who posted the incident confirmed that in the early morning, he and a friend stopped by a porridge shop in Phuoc An town and ordered 2 bowls of oyster porridge. This person thought the shop was overcharging because each bowl only had 4 oysters. After posting the incident on social media, the shop owner contacted him to discuss and ask for a refund of 100,000 VND, so the poster removed the post.

Ms. H., the owner of the porridge shop, said that her shop has always sold oyster porridge for 100,000 VND/bowl and chicken porridge for 35,000 VND/bowl. Each bowl of porridge has 8 oysters (priced at 12,000 VND/oyster).

"I sold 2 bowls of oyster porridge to this customer and put 8 oysters in each bowl. My mistake was not clearly stating the price of oyster porridge at 100,000 VND/bowl. Maybe this customer was not used to eating oyster porridge so he thought it was expensive," Ms. H. explained.

Ms. H. also said that when she saw the incident about her restaurant on social media, she was very shocked and proactively asked for her phone number to discuss and explain carefully so that diners could understand and sympathize.

"I also returned the customer 100,000 VND because I didn't want the story to be controversial. I also confirm that my shop did not "rip off" customers and did not take more money from customers because we were open until dawn," Ms. H. added.

Through the incident, Ms. H. said she will learn from experience and explain carefully to customers before selling.
