Similarly, pepper prices in Ba Ria - Vung Tau remain stable, currently pepper is purchased at 159,000 VND/kg.
Binh Phuoc pepper prices fluctuated little, remaining unchanged compared to the previous trading session. Currently, pepper prices in this locality are at 159,000 VND/kg.
On the contrary, pepper price in Dak Lak province decreased slightly compared to yesterday, down 1,000 VND/kg, currently the pepper purchase price is at 160,000 VND/kg.
Pepper prices in Dak Nong province tend to decrease slightly, down 500 VND/kg. However, the current pepper purchase price in this locality is the highest in the country at 160,500 VND/kg.

Experts said that the inventory-to-use ratio has continuously decreased, leading to increased pepper prices and low carryover inventories in Vietnam, Brazil and other countries.
Besides, demand from China has decreased sharply last year (down about 75-80%). Therefore, the current re-entry of China into the market may push up international pepper prices.
According to data from the General Department of Customs, in the first two months of 2025, pepper exports to China increased by nearly 87% compared to the same period in 2024. Notably, in March 2025, the Vietnam Pepper and Spices International Conference - VIPO 2025 attracted great attention from foreign enterprises. Notably, many cooperation agreements between Vietnam and Chinese and American partners were signed, opening up opportunities for the domestic spice industry.

According to experts, pepper is a biennial crop, so this year many countries in the world have had crop failures due to drought.
Accordingly, global pepper output this year is expected to decrease slightly to 480,000 tons compared to 484,000 tons last year. Vietnam accounts for about 38-40% of global output, followed by Brazil with 14-15%, India and Indonesia each accounting for 11-12%.
In Vietnam, the largest producer, output is expected to fall from 183,000 tonnes to 180,000 tonnes; while in India, output is forecast to fall from 55,000-57,000 tonnes to around 50,000-52,000 tonnes; in India, output is expected to fall by around 20-25%, in Sri Lanka by 25-30%, and in Indonesia by around 8-10%. In contrast, Brazil is seeing an increase in output from 70,000 tonnes to 82,000-85,000 tonnes.

Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Community (IPC) on the afternoon of March 19, 2025 as follows: the market remains stable, anchored at a high level. However, pepper prices in Indonesia have turned down after yesterday's increase, with a decrease of 23 - 33 USD/ton.
Specifically, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper after yesterday's session, which has slightly decreased, currently at 7,298 USD/ton; the price of Muntok white pepper is currently purchased at 10,250 USD/ton.
The Malaysian pepper market remained stable compared to the most recent trading session. Currently, the price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper is purchased at 9,800 USD/ton and the price of ASTA white pepper is at 12,300 USD/ton.
Pepper prices in Brazil have fluctuated little and are currently anchored at a fairly high level, with the current purchase price reaching 6,900 USD/ton.
Vietnam's pepper export market is stable and slightly decreasing. Specifically, the export price of Vietnam's black pepper is currently at 7,000 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l is at 7,200 USD/ton and the price of white pepper is at 10,000 USD/ton.
