According to TechRadar , a new leak from YouTube channel MLID suggests that AMD is planning to launch a higher-end graphics card based on the RDNA 4 architecture, using the same Navi 48 chip as the current RX 9070 but optimized for maximum performance. Sources from a major retailer in the US said that AMD's manufacturing partners have been informed about an "Ultimate Navi 48" GPU version, which could launch in the second quarter of this year.

If this information is accurate, the new RX 9070 graphics card could have performance that falls between the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080. There are no technical details at this time, but it is likely that the GPU will have higher clock speeds and possibly faster VRAM.
MLID also mentioned the supply situation of the RX 9070 series. According to the report, the initial shipment of RX 9070 graphics cards is three times higher than the total number of Nvidia Blackwell RTX 5000 GPUs launched since the end of January. The supply of RX 9070 is expected to be more stable than Nvidia's product line in the future. However, one drawback is that only a portion of RX 9070 models are sold at MSRP. When the first batch is sold out, the prices of these cards have increased significantly.
In terms of market strategy, AMD has also confirmed that it will launch the RX 9060 series in Q2, providing more economical options for users. This could help AMD expand its market share in the context of Nvidia's difficulties with Blackwell GPU supply.
