Awarding scholarships to ethnic minority students and students in difficult circumstances at Dam Thuy Secondary School
On December 1, the Youth Union of the Lao Dong Newspaper in collaboration with the Saigontourist Group Youth Union, Saigon – Ban Gioc Resort, TCL Smart Electronics Company Limited (Vietnam) organized the program “Sentiment in the highlands” – Awarding scholarships to ethnic minority students and students in difficult circumstances at Dam Thuy Secondary School, Dam Thuy Commune, Trung Khanh District, Cao Bang Province.

Dam Thuy Commune is about 80 km northeast of Cao Bang city center, one of the border areas of the Fatherland with a border of nearly 20 km long.
However, the terrain here is quite remote, making transportation difficult, especially during the rainy and winter seasons. Roads leading to the commune are often eroded and flooded, affecting the daily lives of the people and making it difficult for students to get to school.
Within the framework of the program, the delegation handed over gifts to the students to partially support their study expenses, while also encouraging and motivating them to overcome difficulties and continue on their path of study.
Mr. Nong Van Ninh, Party cell secretary and principal of Dam Thuy Secondary School, expressed his emotions and deep gratitude to the units implementing the program "Love in the highlands".
Mr. Nong Van Ninh shared: “Dam Thuy Commune has a remote terrain in terms of traffic, along with the cold climate in winter, making the way to school more difficult for students. The gifts brought by the Youth Union of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, Saigontourist Group Youth Union, Saigon - Ban Gioc Resort and TCL Smart Electronics Company Limited (Vietnam) are truly humane, meaningful and practical. We hope that, with the care and support from the community, the students will have more motivation to overcome difficulties, firmly step on the path of learning and build a bright future”.
