The program "The whole country joins hands for the poor" is a major policy of the Government towards the poor, an event of profound social and humanistic significance. Thereby, it contributes to spreading the message of compassion, sharing, trust, understanding and determination to act so that "no one is left behind" in the journey to build a peaceful, prosperous, warm and happy Vietnam.
Responding to the program "Joining hands for the poor", over the years, Agribank has always been one of the units actively accompanying and maintaining activities of giving Tet gifts to poor, near-poor households, households in difficult circumstances, and policy families. This Tet Giap Thin 2024, the entire Agribank system has spent more than 100 billion VND to support the care of the poor and policy families across the country with the wish that everyone and every family will have a happy Tet holiday and a complete spring. This is the 5th consecutive year that Agribank has participated in supporting Tet gifts for the poor and policy families of localities on the occasion of Tet, continuing the tradition and promoting the social responsibility of a "Bank for the community" in the journey of more than 35 years of development.
Comrade Pham Duc An - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Members of Agribank presented gifts from Agribank to support near-poor households and policy beneficiaries in Ha Dong district (Hanoi) on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin.
In Hanoi, on January 25-26, 2024, Mr. Pham Duc An - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Members of Agribank and delegates of Election Team No. 6 - Hanoi National Assembly Delegation visited and presented gifts to near-poor households and policy beneficiaries in Ha Dong district, Thanh Tri district and Thanh Oai district. Accordingly, the Hanoi National Assembly Delegation and Agribank presented 400 million VND to the Fund for the Poor in Thanh Tri district and 538 million VND to disadvantaged people in Thanh Oai district. In Ha Dong district, the Delegation also visited and presented gifts to near-poor households and policy beneficiaries and presented learning support equipment to disadvantaged children in the district with a total value of 220 million VND.
On the same day, January 26, 2024, in Quang Ninh, Agribank Trade Union organized the social security program "Agribank joins hands for the poor and policy beneficiaries on the occasion of the Spring of Giap Thin 2024". Mr. Pham Toan Vuong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors, General Director of Agribank and Mr. Pham Duc Tuan - Member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of Agribank Trade Union presented 300 million VND of Agribank's support fund, joining hands with the community to help the poor and policy beneficiaries in Mong Cai city, Dam Ha district and Hai Ha district to have a happier and warmer Tet holiday.

Previously, on January 25, 2024, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tri - Member of the Board of Members, Head of Agribank Representative Office in the Southern region also donated Agribank funds to support the Ho Chi Minh City "For the Poor" Fund of 1 billion VND to join hands to take care of the poor and policy beneficiaries.
During these days, Agribank branches across the country are actively implementing the social security program "Agribank joins hands for the poor and policy beneficiaries in the Spring of Giap Thin". With the connection of local authorities, associations, unions and the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels, more than 100,000 gifts have been delivered to poor households, policy households, meritorious people, war invalids, victims of Agent Orange, farmers, women in difficult circumstances, poor students... before the New Year, welcoming the traditional Tet of the nation.
On January 22, through the Thanh Hoa Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Agribank branches located in the province donated a total of VND 2.1 billion to poor households and policy beneficiaries in the locality. Agribank Khanh Hoa and Agribank Ninh Thuan also spent VND 1 billion to join hands to support the poor and policy beneficiaries in the province to celebrate the Year of the Dragon.
Agribank supports the poor and policy families in Ninh Thuan every time Tet comes and Spring comes.
In Nam Dinh, not only targeting poor households, Agribank Nam Dinh also cooperated with the Provincial Border Guard Command, Farmers' Association and authorities at all levels to give Tet gifts to policy families, Agent Orange victims, farmer members, women's association members and students in difficult circumstances in the province with a total cost of 900 million VND.
With many mountainous provinces still facing many difficulties such as Ha Giang, Yen Bai, ... Agribank always cares and devotes large resources to support the poor to overcome difficulties and escape poverty, take care of families with preferential policies, and help students in difficult circumstances have better learning conditions. On this Tet holiday, Agribank Ha Giang donated 700 million VND to support the poor and policy beneficiaries. Also in Ha Giang, on January 27, the Agribank Finance and Accounting Department participated in the working delegation of the Finance and Accounting Department - State Bank of Vietnam to organize the donation of 100 million VND equivalent to 200 Tet gifts to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Minh district; donated 300 million VND to Lung Thau Commune Inter-School (Lung Thau Secondary Boarding School, Primary School, Kindergarten, Dong Van district), and gave Tet gifts to 100 students in difficult circumstances worth 100 million VND.

Notably, during these days before Tet, many policy families were happy and excited to receive meaningful gifts - houses filled with love. These are warm homes sponsored by Agribank to build, sending the loving feelings of Agribank staff and workers.
Recently, accompanying the "Program to give social insurance books and health insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances in 2023 and bring a warm Tet to the poor - Spring of Giap Thin" launched by Vietnam Social Security, Agribank supported 3 billion VND to give 675 social insurance books and 4,930 health insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances in 63 provinces/cities across the country.

The program is a practical social security activity, contributing to improving the quality of life of people in difficult circumstances, so that people can receive medical care when they are sick, have guaranteed income when they reach retirement age, and provide economic support to poor and near-poor households nationwide; contributing to the implementation of the strategic goal of the Party and State "Social Insurance, Health Insurance for All" with the plan to universalize health insurance participation for all people by 2030 and reach 60% of the working-age workforce participating in social insurance.
The spirit of “mutual love”, “remembering the source of water”, “repaying gratitude” has become a tradition, a beautiful cultural trait of affection that generations of Agribank staff and employees cherish and actively promote, especially leaving a strong impression before each Tet holiday and Spring. Small but practical gifts are a source of encouragement and motivation, multiplying humane and noble values, spreading warm love to people in difficult circumstances in all parts of the country, continuing to affirm the brand image of “Bank for the community”.
From financial resources and the response of nearly 40,000 officers and employees of the entire system, in 2023, Agribank supported more than 500 billion VND to implement social security activities, focusing on the fields of education, health; building houses of gratitude, solidarity houses; hunger eradication and poverty reduction; gratitude; overcoming the consequences of natural disasters... Of which, the investment budget for education alone is more than 140 billion VND; investment in construction works and purchase of medical equipment is more than 106 billion VND; the budget for building houses for the poor is more than 140 billion VND; supporting localities to overcome the consequences of natural disasters is more than 37 billion VND; the budget for other social activities is more than 72 billion VND....
