80 Commune-level Farmers' Association Chairmen attend the National Target Program on New Rural Development class

On March 25, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Farmers' Union Training and Development School (Central Vietnam Farmers' Union) held the opening ceremony of a training course on the National Target Program on New Rural Development for Commune-level Farmers' Union Chairmen.

The training course was attended by 80 trainees who are Chairmen of Farmers' Associations in provinces and cities.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the training course, comrade Nguyen Sy Hung - Vice Principal of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Training and Development School said: Implementing the plan to train and develop Union officials at all levels in 2025, on March 25, 2025, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Farmers' Union Training and Development School organized the opening ceremony of the training course on the National Target Program on New Rural Development for the team of Commune-level Farmers' Union Chairmen in 16 provinces and cities in the Northern region to improve the capacity, awareness and thinking of the Union officials working on new rural development.

Comrade Nguyen Sy Hung - Vice Principal of the Training School for Vietnam Farmers' Union officials delivered the opening speech of the training course.

During the 3 days from March 25 to March 27, 2025, the class will listen to 5 topics: Topic 1 is Instructions on the organization and operation of professional farmers' associations and professional farmers' associations; Topic 2 is the Vietnam Farmers' Association participating in collective economic development in agriculture, Topic 3 is Raising awareness of digital transformation and supporting innovative start-up farmers, Topic 4 is Supporting farmers to link production and business according to the value chain and build OCOP products, Topic 5 is Online sales methods and livestream skills.

At the end of the course, each student writes a report card, which is the basis for the School to evaluate the results of the class and receive feedback from students to improve the quality of the next training courses.

The leaders of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Training and Development School emphasized: The National Target Program on New Rural Development (NTM) implemented since 2010 under Decision No. 800/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister is an important policy of the country to comprehensively develop rural areas, improve the material and spiritual life of rural people, and at the same time narrow the development gap between rural and urban areas, aiming at the goal of building a rich, civilized and sustainable countryside.

In recent years, Farmers' Associations at all levels across the country have clearly demonstrated their central and core role in the farmers' movement and the new rural construction. With creative and effective methods, Farmers' Associations at all levels have aroused and promoted the role of farmers; taking farmers as the core force and farmers have affirmed their role as direct subjects participating in the new rural construction.

In 2025, based on the functions, tasks and capacity of the Association's Cadre Training and Development School, the Central Executive Committee of the Association assigned the School to take charge of organizing 10 training courses on the national target program on new rural construction with 1,000 students.

In 2025, 10 training classes will be opened on the National Target Program for New Rural Construction.

2025 is the final year of the 2020-2025 phase of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction.

During this period, the Vietnam Farmers' Union was assigned important tasks, including: The Farmers' Union participates in building professional farmers' branches and groups; organizes a movement of farmers competing in good production and business; especially organizes training, transfers science and technology, builds models according to the chain; trains and fosters the staff of the Farmers' Union at all levels to participate in the national target program; participates in monitoring and inspection.

It is known that in 2025, based on the functions, tasks and capacity of the Association's Cadre Training and Development School, the Central Executive Committee of the Association assigned the School to take charge of organizing 10 training courses on the national target program on new rural construction with 1,000 trainees to improve the qualifications and skills of Farmers' Association cadres at all levels to contribute to improving the quality and effectiveness of the national target program on new rural construction in their localities.
