Number of high school graduation exam candidates increased compared to 2022

According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the total number of candidates taking the high school graduation exam in Ho Chi Minh City is 85,453, an increase of more than 360 candidates compared to 2022. Of which, the high school system has 72,886 candidates, continuing education has 9,194 candidates and 3,373 independent candidates.

With the above number of candidates, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training organized 156 official high school graduation exam sites and 5 backup exam sites. Each exam site has 3 backup rooms to handle unusual cases.

The Department of Education and Training has also mobilized about 14,000 cadres, teachers and employees to participate in the high school graduation exam this year. Of which, about 11,600 cadres and teachers will participate in the exam supervision and 2,475 staff will serve at the exam sites. The total number of cadres and teachers participating in the official exam marking (making the test, scoring, marking multiple-choice and essay tests...) is expected to be 1,710 people.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the department has issued official dispatches on coordination with departments such as the Department of Information and Communications, Department of Transport, Ho Chi Minh City Police, Food Safety Management Board, City Post Office, City Electricity Corporation, Youth Volunteer Force, etc. to organize the exam well.

Focus on safety and security for the exam

According to the head of the Ho Chi Minh City education sector, one of the most important steps identified by the city is the printing and transportation of high school graduation exam papers. Accordingly, about 90 cadres, teachers and employees were selected and assigned the task of printing exam papers. The exam printing area is carried out with strict regulations on ensuring safety, privacy, isolation and is strictly protected during working hours, with full security equipment and fire prevention and fighting according to regulations.

In addition, due to the characteristics of an island district, to ensure absolute security and safety for the exam papers, Ho Chi Minh City has arranged a priority ferry to transport the exam papers to the exam site in Can Gio district.

Regarding the coordination of organizing the high school graduation exam in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Le Quang Dao, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police, said that the City Police have developed a separate plan to ensure security and order for the exam. In particular, the police sector has arranged about 700 officers to coordinate to ensure absolute confidentiality and safety for the exam from the printing, copying of exam papers to the grading work. Police officers have been assigned to protect the exam sites, the printing and copying of exam papers, and the grading sites; and to participate in escorting and protecting exam papers and exam papers in accordance with regulations.

Also according to the plan, Ho Chi Minh City Police directed the traffic police force to have a plan to be on duty and coordinate with the forces of the Department of Transport and Youth Volunteers to quickly clear traffic jams on exam days, creating conditions for teachers and candidates to arrive at the exam site on time...

The Department of Education and Training leader added that the department has organized training courses on exam procedures for all officers working on exams. All officers participating in the exam must have a firm grasp of the regulations and procedures for organizing exams; ensure the exam schedule, ensure the exam supervision is safe and serious. Fully prepare human resources, facilities, and equipment to organize the exam. Pay special attention to conditions for epidemic prevention, hygiene, food safety, security, and order.

In particular, the Department of Education and Training reviewed and worked with the City Police to unify the process and personnel involved in transporting exam papers and test papers to ensure absolute safety, confidentiality, and compliance with regulations. Establish inspection and examination of exam preparation and organization at all stages to ensure safety, seriousness, objectivity, honesty, and to avoid errors, negativity, and violations of regulations. Prepare good information technology infrastructure to avoid network congestion during information exchange, especially when announcing exam results.
