Beta Media (Vietnam) and Aeon Entertainment (Japan) have just reached a joint venture agreement, focusing on developing and operating a chain of high-end cinemas, investing in the production and distribution of Vietnamese, Japanese and international films in the domestic market.
At the announcement ceremony on the afternoon of July 31, the organizers said that in the plan until 2035, this joint venture will invest in building 50 high-class cinema complexes under the Aeon Beta Cinema brand. This cinema complex system will be present in all provinces and cities of Vietnam with the desire to bring the best movie-watching experiences to audiences.
The capital to build this new cinema complex is about 5,000 billion VND, depending on the actual market situation but with the highest commitment on quality. The first cinema is expected to open in 2025.
In addition to the cinema complex system, this joint venture also aims to participate actively in film production and distribution. According to the agreement, the film production and distribution projects promise to bring audiences quality films rich in artistic and entertainment values.
In Vietnam, Beta Media was established in 2014, developing and operating a cinema chain targeting the mid-range segment in Vietnam. This unit has developed more than 20 cinema complexes nationwide. In addition to the new high-end cinema brand, Beta Cinema's cinema system continues to serve the mid-range customer group.
Meanwhile, Aeon Entertainment (part of the Japanese Aeon Group) was established in 1991 and currently owns 96 cinemas, making it the largest cinema chain in Japan.
