VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight 2023 Ioniq5 Cup will start at 0:00 on November 26. This year, the race will gather 11,000 runners.
To meet the needs of athletes and create a new atmosphere for the tournament, the organizers changed the entire race route. All distances started from Dinh Tien Hoang Street, along Hoan Kiem Lake. The two longest distances crossed Long Bien and Vinh Tuy bridges for the first time. In the 42km distance, athletes were able to run along a route that almost completely encircled West Lake.

This year’s tournament still retains the team format. The number of registered teams reached 52, nearly double that of last year. Many teams have increased their strength and recruited talent throughout the year with the ambition of winning the championship. Clubs are allowed to register cheerleading teams to operate at stations along the track to increase excitement and team spirit.
The weather on race day was around 20 degrees Celsius, chilly. This was the ideal weather, suitable for runners to give their all, aiming for PR. Along the race track, 17 water stations, 11 medical stations, and toilets were densely arranged to support and ensure the safety of runners. Similar to previous races, VM Hanoi Midnight applied a new signboard system to guide runners. The signboard system is prominent even in the middle of the night.
The organizers no longer separate the professional and amateur categories. Instead, the top 5 athletes with the best results will receive the final prize including cash, Garmin watches and Nike vouchers. The cash amount has increased compared to last year. The marathon champion receives a prize worth 45 million VND.
