Rob Brouwer, Miao YunChao, Rustam Bzhekshiev... praised the romantic scenery on the Hue run, where they could admire many ancient landmarks.
At 4:45 a.m. on April 21, Rob Brouwer and other athletes began to conquer the 10km distance at the VnExpress Marathon Hue 2024. This was his 5th time running in Vietnam, but his first time in Hue. The U70 runner was very proud of himself for completing the difficult course in hot weather conditions.

Receiving the medal from the Organizing Committee, Brouwer was very emotional. He praised Hue for its beauty, the flat road that allowed him to run and enjoy the beautiful city. The only obstacle that made this runner feel a bit tired was the high temperature. The sun rose from 5am, making him and many others quickly lose strength and sweat a lot.
In the final stretch, Brouwer decided to finish early, increasing his speed by taking longer strides. He finished the 10km in 56 minutes and 28 seconds, finishing fourth in the over-60s group. Last month, Brouwer had just conquered the Ho Chi Minh City Night Run, also at a distance of 10km.

Next June, Brouwer will continue to visit VM Quy Nhon. He also loves this coastal city because of its delicious seafood, beautiful beaches and friendly people.
Like Brouwer, Miao YunChao (37 years old, China) was impressed with Hue. The runner currently lives and works in Hanoi, but every year she goes to Hue to run a marathon. Yun Chao loves the antiquity, cuisine, culture and architecture of the ancient capital.

Last year alone, he visited Hue 4 times, both for work and to participate in races, without getting bored. YunChao once completed the full marathon challenge but the result was not as expected, so this year he only signed up for the half marathon. He finished after 2 hours 9 minutes 14 seconds.
Russian runner Rustam Bzhekshiev exceeded expectations when he entered the top 3 in his age group for the 21km race. He finished the half marathon in just 1 hour 25 minutes 33 seconds. Hue was his first marathon. Previously, Rustam specialized in trail running. He participated in races in Da Lat, Moc Chau... and was always in the group with good results.

Assessing the quality of VM Hue, Rustam said the organization, security and course design were professional. Because it was his first marathon, it left a deep impression. The beautiful medals were also a plus, making the Russian runner plan to return to the Hue race next year.
VnExpress Marathon Hue 2024 kicked off on the morning of April 21, with the participation of 8,000 runners. This is the first year that all four distances will go through ancient, historical routes around the Hue Citadel such as Yet Kieu, Dang Thai Than, and Doan Thi Diem from the first kilometers.
After Hue, VnExpress Marathon will continue to Quy Nhon (June), Da Nang (July), Nha Trang (August), Ha Long (September), Hanoi (November) and Hai Phong (December). See details and buy Bib here.
