Hanoi 10 outstanding faces were selected to receive the Golden Globe award for outstanding achievements in the field of science and technology.
On the evening of October 27, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ministry of Science and Technology awarded the Golden Globe Science and Technology Award and the 2023 Female Science and Technology Student Award. This is an annual award to discover and honor young talents under 35 years old with outstanding achievements in research and development of talent in the field of science and technology.
The award council selected 10 outstanding faces from 18 excellent candidates in 4 award fields including: Information technology, digital transformation and automation (3 awards), medical technology (3 awards), environmental technology (2 awards) and new material technology (2 awards).

According to the Organizing Committee, after more than 4 months of launching, the Award received 69 nominations from 38 agencies, units, universities and research institutes. Most of them are young scientists studying and researching at universities, academies and research institutes in the country and abroad. Among them are 2 associate professors; 53 PhDs and 16 masters; the youngest candidate is 27 years old and the oldest is 42 years old, 15 candidates are studying and researching from Hungary, Thailand, Australia, the US and Korea. Many individuals have patents, useful solutions, many high-quality international publications in the Q1 category, many domestic and international awards and medals.
Each winner receives the "Creative Youth" Badge from the Central Youth Union, the Golden Globe Cup, a Certificate and a cash prize of 20 million VND.

The organizing committee also selected 20 outstanding individuals to receive the Vietnam Science and Technology Female Student Award. This year, the Central Youth Union considered 12 majors, all female students are excellent students, many students have articles published in prestigious domestic and international magazines and conferences; participated in scientific research or won high prizes in startup and programming competitions... The female students were also awarded certificates of merit by the Central Youth Union, logos and a bonus of 5 million VND.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan highly appreciated the initiative and perseverance in organizing the Golden Globe Award for Female Science and Technology Students. After 20 years of implementation, the award has increasingly affirmed its prestige, attracting the attention of the scientific community, especially outstanding young talents with outstanding achievements, many research projects, and technological products contributing to solving urgent problems of social life, contributing to affirming the intelligence and position of Vietnamese science and technology. At the same time, it has spread the passion for research, the spirit of creativity, and dedication to science to the young generation.
The Female Student Award discovers and encourages many generations of outstanding female students with outstanding achievements, contributing to fostering the spirit of scientific research among female students and promoting gender equality. Many individuals after winning the award have matured professionally, becoming successful scientists, managers, and businessmen, contributing to the development of the country.
She added that countries around the world are increasingly focusing on developing science and technology, especially applied research. Science and technology are the decisive factors in bringing some countries to superpower status, shortening the development gap of the following countries. In the context of implementing Resolution 13, the Vice President affirmed that improving the quality of human resources, developing talents, and high-quality human resources are key factors.
She suggested that the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ministry of Science and Technology continue to research, review, and propose solutions to improve the policy system to attract talents, including domestic and foreign science and technology talents. This will create favorable conditions for the younger generation, especially talented students, to have the opportunity to develop their abilities and contribute.
"For young scientists, I hope you see the award as a recognition of your important efforts, thereby gaining more motivation, positive energy, and constant creativity to create many valuable scientific works, contributing to improving life and actively contributing to the development of the country," she emphasized.
The award is chaired by the Central Youth Union, in coordination with the Ministry of Science and Technology, and has been presented annually since 2003. After 20 years of organization, up to now, 204 outstanding individuals at home and abroad have received the award.
