Da Nang tops the list of 10 domestic destinations chosen by many Vietnamese tourists on National Day, followed by Vung Tau and Nha Trang, according to Booking.
Booking, one of the world's leading online travel platforms, today announced a list of the 10 most popular domestic destinations for Vietnamese tourists during the September 2 holiday. Accordingly, Da Nang holds the top position with the highest number of room reservations during September 2-4, followed by Vung Tau and Nha Trang. The remaining names include Da Lat, Ho Chi Minh City, Mui Ne, Hanoi, Ha Long, Phu Quoc, and Hoi An.
In addition, Booking also pointed out that Vietnamese customers are having "greater demand than usual" for two types of vacations: staycation (traveling near or right in the city of residence) and drivecations (traveling by car and staying in the car) to destinations not too far away during this time.

The list is based on online search data from July 1 to August 14, with booking dates from September 1 to 4. Survey respondents were over 18 years old and were either holiday makers or major players in their upcoming trip.
According to travel experts, the popular destinations this time "do not have many breakthroughs" and "are mostly familiar tourist destinations". According to Booking's 2023 Travel Confidence Index, beaches are always the top choice for Vietnamese tourists when traveling, with 61% of survey participants. Next are big cities (60%). This is also clearly shown in the top 10 list above, with 6/10 names being the country's leading coastal cities.
Varun Grover, Country Manager for Booking.com in Vietnam, said that the National Day holiday marks the time before students return to school. It is also the last long holiday of the year. Therefore, many people still plan to travel despite having just gone through the April 30 holiday and summer.
