According to the latest statistics of the General Department of Customs, in August, computers, electronic products and components achieved an export turnover of 5.28 billion USD, an increase of 4.4% compared to the previous month and continued to be the largest commodity group of our country.
Meanwhile, phones and components had an impressive growth of 15.7% compared to the previous month and reached 5.15 billion USD.
The two largest commodity groups mentioned above alone achieved a total export turnover of 10.43 billion USD, accounting for 31.84% of the country's total export turnover in August.

In addition, in August, there were 5 export groups with turnover of 1 billion USD or more and most of them had quite good growth compared to the previous month.
Specifically, machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reached 3.62 billion USD, up 2.4%; textiles and garments reached 3.45 billion USD, up 5.5%; wood and wood products reached 1.29 billion USD, up 15.1%; means of transport and spare parts reached 1.21 billion USD, up 5.7%.
Among the “billion-dollar” commodity groups, only footwear had a decrease in turnover compared to July 2023. In August, this commodity group reached 1.72 billion USD, down 4%.
In August, the country's total export turnover reached 32.76 billion USD, up 9% (equivalent to an increase of 2.69 billion USD) compared to the previous month.
In the first 8 months of the year, the country's total export value reached 228.17 billion USD, down 9.8% (equivalent to a decrease of 24.79 billion USD).
