Identifying vocational training to improve the qualifications of rural workers as an important task in agricultural development, Trieu Son district has actively surveyed the vocational training needs of workers in communes and towns, thereby opening vocational training classes suitable to local realities. On that basis, the district focuses on agricultural vocational training associated with the development of key crops and livestock with local strengths. Every year, the district's agricultural sector coordinates with the district's Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center to open training classes for people in communes and towns in the area to serve smart agricultural production, ecological agriculture, organic agriculture and digital transformation in agriculture. In 2024, the district coordinated to implement 8 short-term rural labor vocational classes for 260 students in Trieu Thanh, Hop Thang, Tho Cuong, Thai Hoa, Tien Nong, Dong Tien communes, and Nua town and issued certificates to students who completed the course.
According to Mr. Le Huu Hai, Director of the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education of Trieu Son district: "Following closely the orientation of agricultural development, the center has coordinated to implement vocational training courses for workers to increase the value of key products, develop OCOP products, and local specialty products. In particular, focusing on training workers to grasp the standards and regulations in agricultural production, smart agriculture, new technical processes, new technologies in production, processing, specialized area management, traceability, circular economic models using agricultural by-products effectively. According to preliminary statistics, the number of trained workers who have promoted their work efficiency in the district is currently about 80%. Many workers from poor households have found jobs and escaped poverty, some households have had good incomes. The center is coordinating with relevant departments of the district and province to organize training courses for workers to know how to apply information technology, apply good and advanced production processes. advanced, high-tech, organic, safe agriculture, adapting to climate change. Along with that, organize training courses for people, businesses, and cooperatives in the area to improve management skills, build production plans to meet the requirements of the domestic and export markets".
Currently, the province's agriculture has developed quite comprehensively and is shifting towards large-scale commodity production with increasingly high productivity and quality. Along with that, agriculture has gradually shifted from production thinking to agricultural economic thinking, contributing to increasing the value per unit area and income for farmers. Therefore, the demand for high-quality human resources is increasing. Therefore, the province has focused on training high-quality human resources to serve smart agricultural production, ecological agriculture, organic agriculture and digital transformation in agriculture, creating jobs and increasing income for agricultural workers.
In 2024, through funding from programs and projects, the province trained 9,381 students with a total cost of more than 32.15 billion VND. Of which, the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction supported agricultural vocational training for 649 students; the National Target Program for New Rural Development trained 105 students; the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas trained 8,627 students in agricultural vocational training. Workers who received agricultural vocational training have applied their knowledge and applied scientific and technological advances to production, improving crop and livestock productivity. Many localities have linked New Rural Development with vocational training, gradually shifting some agricultural workers to service agriculture, serving the restructuring of the agricultural sector and responding to climate change.
