Trial of terrorism case in Dak Lak: Court sentences 10 to life in prison

After 1.5 days of deliberation, on the afternoon of January 20, the Council of Judges of the first instance trial of the criminal case "Terrorism against the people's government; Terrorism; Organizing illegal exit and entry for others; Concealing criminals" that occurred in Cu Kuin district (Dak Lak province) sentenced 100 defendants on the charges of: Terrorism against the people's government; Terrorism; Organizing illegal exit and entry for others; Concealing criminals.

After objectively and comprehensively considering the case, aggravating and mitigating circumstances, implementing the humane policies of the Party and State, and the leniency of the laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Trial Panel sentenced the defendants to the following sentences:

Sentenced to 10 life sentences for the crime of Terrorism against the defendants: Y Sol Nie (born in 1979, residing in North Carolina, USA) - the defendant played a key role, commanded; H Wuêñ Êban (born in 1976, residing in Cu Sue commune, Cu M'gar district, Dak Lak province) - the defendant played a key role, commanded;

Y Tho Ayun (born in 1987, residing in Cu Pong commune, Krong Buk district, Dak Lak province); Y Chanh Nie (born in 1996, residing in Cu Pong commune); Y Ju Nie (born in 1968, residing in Ea Knuec commune, Krong Pak district, Dak Lak province); Y Tim Nie (born in 1997, residing in Cu Ne commune, Krong Buk district, Dak Lak province);

Y Chun Nie (born in 1990, residing in Cu Pong commune); Nay Yen (residing in Cu Pong commune); Y Not Siu (born in 1978, residing in Cu Pong commune); Y Giop Mlo (born in 1996, residing in Ea Sin commune, Krong Buk district, Dak Lak province).

The defendants convicted of the same crime of Terrorism against the people's government include: Y Pho Nie, Y Diơh Kbuôr, Y Jôl Arul, Y Dăr Kbuôr, Y Khing Lieng were each sentenced to 20 years in prison;

The defendants Nay Tam and Nay Duong were each sentenced to 19 years in prison;

The defendants Y Choa Nie, Y Gol Ayŭn, Y Thuot Kbuôr, and Y Nen Mlô were each sentenced to 18 years in prison; Defendant Y Thuong Nie was sentenced to 17 years in prison;

The defendants Y Ba Byă, Y Bluiet Mlô, and Y Phai Byă were each sentenced to 16 years in prison; the defendants Y Li Phoch Nie and Y Krong Phok were each sentenced to 15 years in prison;

Defendant Y Chuyen Nie was sentenced to 14 years in prison; Defendants Y Bloh Mlo and Ksor Som were each sentenced to 13 years in prison; Defendant Y Wol Arul was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

The defendants include Y Khuik Ayŭn, who was sentenced to 11 years in prison; Y Van Nie, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison; Y Khuê Nie, Y Thoa Nie, who was sentenced to 9 years in prison; Y Te Eban, Y Dan Nie, Y Wuong Nie, Y Pa Mlô, Y Que Bkrông, Y Suôr Edi Nie, and Y Triên Nie, who were each sentenced to 8 years in prison;

Y Ha Mlô, Y Khuin Knul, Y Jŭ Ayŭn, Y Lip Pin Nie, Y Chi Kbuôr, Y Khuong Nie were each sentenced to 7 years in prison; Y Pol Nie, Y Dhoăn Ayŭn, Y Kač Êban, Y Khôn Nie, Y Bik Mlô were each sentenced to 6 years in prison.

For the 6 defendants who are abroad and wanted, convicted of terrorism, the Trial Council of the People's Court of Dak Lak province sentenced defendant Y Mut Mlô to 11 years in prison, Y Quynh Bdap to 10 years in prison; the defendants Y Čhik Nie, Y Nien Eya, Y But Eban, Y Chanh Byă, each to 9 years in prison.

Convicted of the crime of Terrorism , the Court sentenced the defendant Y Rưk Byă to 9 years in prison; Nay Y Bốp to 8 years in prison; Y Huăl Êban to 7 years in prison; The defendants Y Hải Nie, Y Xa Lem Arul, Y Suôl Êban, Y Nguyên Nie, and Y Kom Kbin each to 6 years in prison;

The defendants Nay Chuk and Y Man Mlo were each sentenced to 5 years in prison; the defendants Y Sonak Mlo and Y Kơnh Ayŭn were sentenced to 4 years in prison;

The defendants include Y Bheo Nie, who was sentenced to 7 years in prison; Y Khuyen Mdrang and Y Ngur Bkrong, who were each sentenced to 6 years in prison; Y Nit Nie, Y Pheo Nie, Y Phen Byă, Y Nu Nie, Y Bhieu Hwing, Y Wiêt Byă, Y Phi Li Arul, and Y Tuan Nie, who were each sentenced to 5 years in prison;

Y Soñ Eban, Y Tlop Mlo, Y Bhil Nie, Y Klung Kbuôr, Y Mi Lô Buôn Yă, Y Suột Eban, Y Luận Eban, Y El Byă, Y Viên Rô Ô, and Y Un Byă were each sentenced to 4 years in prison; Y Âu Kpă, Y Quynh Mlo, Y Tăp Liêng, Y Nhơ Kpă, Y Drǒk Hwing, and Y Tri Arul were each sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison.

Defendant Le Van Nghia was convicted of the crime of Organizing illegal exit and entry for others and was sentenced to 2 years in prison. Defendant Y Čing Byă was convicted of the crime of Concealing a criminal and was sentenced to 9 months in prison.

The trial panel also declared that the 92 defendants in the case must be responsible for civil compensation to agencies, organizations and individuals who suffered material and spiritual damages.
