In order to increase tourism exploitation in Ha Long Bay, thereby creating momentum to realize the goal of welcoming 20 million visitors in 2025, including 4.5 million international visitors and 8.5 million overnight guests, on the afternoon of April 4, in Ha Long City, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh chaired a meeting with departments, branches, units and the Ha Long Bay Management Board to identify a number of key tasks and solutions for Ha Long Bay tourism in 2025.
After listening to the report on the current status of management and organization of tourism activities on Ha Long Bay, and the opinions of departments and branches, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee concluded: This year, Quang Ninh province will soon open a tourist route from Lan Ha Bay to Ha Long Bay, traveling on routes 3 and 4, thereby making the most of the resources of Vietnam's first inter-provincial heritage, contributing to attracting about 500,000 more visitors to Ha Long Bay, increasing the province's budget revenue.
In addition, it is necessary to soon open a restaurant boat tour from Ha Long International Passenger Port, Tuan Chau International Passenger Port to Column 8 area; develop tours along Ha Long Bay. At the same time, renovate and improve the landscape of the onshore and undersea areas of this coastal sightseeing route; especially apply high technology and digital transformation to enhance the experience for tourists.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also directed that it is necessary to arrange service provision activities on Ha Long Bay to improve the quality of tourism on the bay, meeting the diverse needs of tourists to learn about the culture and history of Ha Long Bay and Quang Ninh province. At the same time, develop sports products such as kayaking according to current legal regulations. Units also need to arrange and adjust regulations on tourist boats on Ha Long Bay, encourage ship owners whose ships are about to expire to invest in building new, more luxurious, classy ships with a larger scale of receiving guests.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Ha Long Bay Management Board to study and promulgate waste and wastewater collection and treatment procedures for tourist boats and to study the application of science and technology in waste treatment and environmental protection; carry out a general renovation of environmental sanitation and infrastructure on islands and sightseeing spots to improve service quality for tourists. At the same time, invest in completing the port system, mooring buoys, signs, and dredging routes for large ships to enter and exit conveniently, ensuring absolute safety for tourists. Along with that, apply electronic tickets and modern management technology to regulate port and ship operations on the bay conveniently and quickly.
In 2025, Ha Long Bay is determined to welcome 3.5 million visitors, focusing on developing luxury and high-quality markets, maximizing the exploitation of cruise ship passenger markets such as Japan and Europe, aiming to build Ha Long tourism products as a destination for all four seasons of the year.
