In 3 hours, angler Dien Van Dung (Ha Tinh City) caught 7 snakehead fish. With this number, he excellently won first prize in the snakehead fish catching contest using hand-rolled bowls.

On the morning of April 23, the first snakehead fish fishing contest using hand-rolled bowls in 2023 was held in village 9 (Thach My commune, Loc Ha), gathering nearly 70 anglers in Ha Tinh.
Before each round, the anglers are organized to draw lots to choose the fishing position. Each angler stands 3m apart.
According to the Organizing Committee's regulations, 100% of the bait must be real frogs. Anglers are not allowed to ask for bait from their opponents, can only fish for snakehead fish, not other types of fish, and compete within 3 hours.
Satisfactory result of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Minh - angler from Ha Tinh city after 1 hour of fishing.
Mr. Minh said: "Regardless of the hot weather, nearly 70 anglers in Ha Tinh participated in the snakehead fish fishing contest using hand-rolled bowls - an exciting yet sophisticated way of fishing. Although I did not win first prize in the contest, I was still happy and considered this an interesting and useful experience on the weekend."
According to anglers, to catch fish, the fishing rod must meet the standards: it must be long and flexible but light so that the angler's hand does not get tired; at the same time, when rolling the bowl, it must be even and smooth.
After catching, the snakehead fish must be put into a bag. Players are not allowed to give, donate or collect fish for other contestants.
At the end of the tournament, angler Dien Van Dung (Ha Tinh City) excellently won first prize with the largest number of fish (7 fish). He received a trophy and a prize of 2 million VND and a fishing rod worth 2.5 million VND. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 1 second prize (1.5 million VND and a fishing rod worth 2 million VND), 1 third prize (1 million VND and a fishing rod worth 1 million VND) and 1 consolation prize (a prize of 500 thousand VND) to the anglers.
