On January 18, AVP reported that social media was actively discussing a video recording the collision between a US-made Bradley infantry fighting vehicle operated by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and a Russian T-90M tank near Avdeevka. Images from the video showed that despite intense fire, the Ukrainian side was unable to destroy the damaged tank.

The incident occurred near the village of Stepovoye in the Avdeevka region on January 13. According to information released by Russian and Ukrainian media, at the beginning of the battle, the Russian tank lost its ability to aim due to damage to its surveillance equipment. Bradley took advantage of this situation and fired at the tank repeatedly. The jamming system and protection devices on the tank were then activated.

The T-90M crew's unsuccessful attempts to retaliate were due to a failure of the tank's turret rotation mechanism, which caused it to spin uncontrollably. However, despite the difficulties, the driver managed to move the tank away from the battlefield.

Also on January 18, AVP reported that nearly 100 Ukrainian missiles were shot down by Russian air defense systems. Accordingly, in the past 18 hours, Russian air defense systems successfully shot down 2 Ukrainian Tochka-U missiles, a US-made JDAM guided bomb, 91 missiles launched from the US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system, Vampire (Czech Republic) and many Ukrainian drones. These figures were announced by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on Thursday.

According to the information provided, the successful use of air defense systems helped to prevent attacks on important targets on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic (self-proclaimed), the Lugansk People's Republic (self-proclaimed), as well as the Zaporozhye, Kherson and Kharkov regions.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the start of the special operation, a total of 567 Ukrainian military aircraft, 265 helicopters and 10,870 drones have been destroyed by the Russian military.
