These days, from bustling neighborhoods to peaceful countrysides, everywhere is dyed with the bright red of the national flag, the swallow-tailed flags are hung neatly on the roads, residential cultural houses, and private homes of households. In the warm sunshine of early spring, flower gardens, flower islands in public areas, on both sides of the roads, in the grounds of residential cultural houses... are carefully tended, blooming brilliantly to welcome the new year. Urban beautification, landscape, and environmental sanitation work is being widely deployed by localities.
In Viet Tri - the festival city returning to the roots of the Vietnamese people, urban beautification and environmental protection work is always focused on and implemented in conjunction with the program of building a civilized urban area. To welcome the New Year, Viet Tri city is urgently beautifying the urban area so that the streets have a clean, green, bright and beautiful appearance. Posters, large billboards, light boxes, electronic boards in the city have been "renovated"; along the roads, red flags, fishtail flags, and banners have been hung; in the streets, neighborhoods, alleys... people hang national flags, decorate, paint murals, hang LED lights, pennants... Along with that, the work of beautifying the lighting system, traffic lights, public trees as well as ensuring urban order and environmental sanitation is also directed by the city.
Comrade Bui Tuan Nghia - Vice Chairman of Viet Tri City People's Committee, said: Since the beginning of December, the city has directed departments and offices to speed up the progress of urban beautification to welcome the new year 2025 and the Lunar New Year of At Ty. Investment items to renovate and upgrade roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems on some roads in the city are being urgently completed. The city also assigned the task to the Urban Management Department to be on duty, preside over, and advise the City People's Committee in directing and operating urban beautification, environmental sanitation, ensuring urban order and construction order; coordinate to organize inspections and supervise the implementation of the plan in wards and communes as a basis for evaluating the implementation results. At the same time, guide the People's Committees of wards and communes, units, enterprises, and people to decorate lights and trees on roads, high-rise buildings, headquarters of enterprises, agencies, and houses; Urge and inspect urban beautification work, trees, public lighting, decorative electricity, traffic lights, environmental sanitation, construction order, urban order, garbage collection, environmental sanitation; clear weeds and bushes on suburban roads to ensure clear visibility...
Along with Viet Tri city, in urban areas throughout the province, the work of beautifying, constructing landscapes, and protecting the environment is also carried out simultaneously. In rural areas, at the end of the year, although busy with farm work and housework, all members of the village community eagerly participate in environmental sanitation to make the country roads clean and beautiful to welcome Spring. Women's union members, farmers, veterans, and youth union members join hands to collect waste and scrap, trim and care for trees and flowers, hang flags... to beautify the roads and alleys where they live... Rural roads are paved with wide, clean concrete, with colorful flowers on both sides and shady trees to make each village a peaceful and livable place.
In all residential areas, the community has actively responded to the concentrated sanitation campaign to create a green, clean and beautiful landscape to welcome the Spring. For example, in smart residential area No. 5, Cao Xa commune, Lam Thao district, the atmosphere of people preparing to welcome the New Year of the Snake is more bustling. It has become an annual tradition that, in addition to the activities of environmental sanitation teams, the area also mobilizes the participation of households to collect waste, clear sewers, clear bushes, take care of flowers and ornamental plants in the area, and decorate houses... to welcome the New Spring.
Head of residential area No. 5, Cao Xa commune, Trinh Van Khoa, shared: “According to the announcement of the area, each family sent at least one person to participate in the centralized cleaning. When starting the work, everyone was active, happy, and chatted while working. Everyone focused on cleaning the environment in the main roads of the area, the cultural house, the village communal house... then spread out to the alleys and hamlets. When the work was finished, the road seemed wider, cleaner, and more beautiful, making everyone feel happy and joyful. Before that, all households agreed to contribute money to buy fresh flowers and trees to plant and place along the main road; flags, flashing lights, LEDs, decorative banners... This activity not only demonstrates the responsibility of each individual and family to the residential area, but more importantly, it also becomes a form of community activity, contributing to building and strengthening solidarity among the people, working together, joining hands, and unanimously building the homeland to become increasingly rich and prosperous.”
The traditional Tet atmosphere is bustling. The urban and rural landscape beautification not only creates a joyful and exciting atmosphere to serve the people to welcome the New Year but also demonstrates the civilization, sense of responsibility to protect the environment and build the beauty of the people of the Ancestral Land.
