Gasoline 95 price increased by 408 VND/liter, up to over 21,000 VND/liter

Gasoline prices today, from 3:00 p.m. on December 19. Accordingly, each liter of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by 383 VND/liter, RON 95 gasoline increased by 408 VND/liter; oil prices were also adjusted up.


The Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance has just adjusted the retail price of gasoline and oil in the adjustment period today (December 19). The application time is from 3:00 p.m. on December 19, 2024.

Specifically, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by VND383/liter, to VND20,244/liter; RON 95 gasoline alone increased by VND408/liter, to VND21,004/liter.

Diesel 0.05S price: Increased by 478 VND/liter, up to 18,733 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 402 VND/liter, up to 18,968 VND/liter; fuel oil 180CST 3.5S increased by 329 VND/kg, up to 903 VND/kg.

In this management period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance did not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for E5RON92 gasoline, RON95 gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene, and fuel oil.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the average price of finished petroleum products in the world between the price adjustment period on December 12, 2024 and the adjustment period on December 19, 2024 is: 82.866 USD/barrel of RON92 gasoline used to blend E5RON92 gasoline (up 2.116 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 2.62%); 86.216 USD/barrel of RON95 gasoline (up 2.102 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 2.50%); 88.964 USD/barrel of kerosene (up 2.264 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 2.61%); 89.566 USD/barrel of 0.05S diesel oil (up 2.692 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 3.10%); 446,492 USD/ton of 180CST 3.5S fuel oil (up 11,510 USD/ton, equivalent to an increase of 2.65%).

At 6:00 a.m. this morning (Vietnam time), Brent crude oil prices rose 20 cents (0.27%) to $73.39 per barrel. WTI crude oil prices rose 50 cents, or 0.71%, to $70.58 per barrel. During the session, both benchmark oil prices rose more than $1 at one point.

Reuters reported that US crude and distillate inventories fell by 900,000 barrels and 3.2 million barrels, respectively, in the week ended December 13. Meanwhile, gasoline inventories rose by 2.3 million barrels. This crude oil inventory level is five times lower than the 4.7 million barrel inventory decrease reported by the American Petroleum Institute a day earlier.

Also according to the EIA, total supply, which represents demand, was 20.8 million barrels per day, up 662,000 barrels per day from the previous week. According to analysts, the market seems to have completely turned around from all the negativity that happened a few weeks ago because there is more optimism about demand.

In the most recent adjustment period on December 12, the prices of all types of gasoline and oil were adjusted down by the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance. Specifically, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 3 VND/liter, not higher than 19,861 VND/liter; conversely, the price of RON95 gasoline increased by 33 VND/liter, not higher than 20,596 VND/liter.

Meanwhile, the prices of all types of oil decreased. Diesel oil price decreased by 127 VND/liter, not higher than 18,255 VND/liter. Kerosene price decreased by 251 VND/liter, not higher than 18,566 VND/liter and fuel oil price decreased by 551 VND/kg, not higher than 15,574 VND/kg.

In this management period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance did not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for E5RON92 gasoline, RON95 gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene, and fuel oil.
