More than 70,000 women in the capital performed folk dances in ao dai, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the capital's liberation and the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union, setting a Vietnamese record.
On the morning of October 20, more than 70,000 women in the capital city from 579 communes, wards and towns performed folk dances in ao dai, together creating a Vietnamese record.
The activity took place on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Capital and the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union.
Speaking at the opening ceremony at Thanh Xuan Park (Thanh Xuan District), Chairwoman of the Hanoi Women's Union Le Kim Anh said that the performance was organized with the hope of strongly inspiring all people, continuing to promote the folk dance movement to become a regular activity in the community, contributing to enriching the cultural and spiritual life of women and people in the capital.
Ms. Le Kim Anh shared that the mass sports and dance movement among female cadres and members of the Capital's Women's Union has developed strongly in recent times.
The program aims to build comprehensively developed women in the capital with knowledge, ethics, health, and responsibility for themselves, their families, society, and country.
From Thanh Xuan Park and communes, wards and towns across the city, folk dance performances took place to the music of three songs: "Hanoi People - Marching to Hanoi - Hanoi's constructions."
With both energetic and cheerful movements, the program is a very meaningful activity, expressing love and pride for the heroic thousand-year-old capital; affirming the spirit of solidarity, beauty and strength of the capital's women; a message of love for peace, aspiration to rise up, contributing to building a civilized, modern and civilized capital, building the women's movement and the Women's Union to become stronger.
At the program, after the folk dance performance, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Ngoc, Deputy General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Record Holders Association, General Secretary of the Vietnam Record Organization - VietKings announced the decision to establish a Vietnamese Record for the Hanoi Women's Union for "The folk dance performance program with Ao Dai in communes, wards and towns in Hanoi with the largest number of women participating in the performance in Vietnam."
This record is announced on mass media, on media channels of the Vietnam Record system, recorded in annual Record publications and announced to the record-holding community nationwide.
The Vietnam Record Association also requested the Hanoi Women's Union to promote the image of Vietnam Record domestically and internationally.
