Hundreds of lecturers conquer the 'roof of the world', setting a Vietnamese record

352 cadres and lecturers have completed the conquest of 25 mountain peaks at home and abroad, including the "roof of the world" Everest and the highest peak in Africa, Kilimanjaro. This activity was recognized as a Vietnamese record on January 18.


Dr. Le Truong Tung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT University, said that from March to the end of December 2024, 352 officials, lecturers and employees of FPT education sector participated in the program "Up to the mountains - Conquering 25 peaks" at home and abroad, including the "roof of the world" Everest and set a Vietnamese record.

Staff, lecturers and employees successfully conquered Everest Base Camp

This program was awarded a record certificate by the Vietnam Record Association based on the criteria "Program to conquer 25 mountains and peaks of Vietnam and the world in one year with the largest number of participating cadres, lecturers and staff".

According to Mr. Tung, among the journeys to conquer 25 peaks, there are challenging journeys even for professional climbers, such as the "roof of the world" Everest Base Camp, or the highest peak in Africa, Kilimanjaro, or the famous volcano and also the second highest peak in Indonesia - Rinjani.

The joy of conquering the mountain peak of the staff and lecturers

In addition to the world-famous peaks, the staff and lecturers of this unit also conquered domestic peaks, from North to South such as Fansipan, Ta Xua, Ngu Chi Son, Ta Nang Phan Dung...

"From 2019 to now, FPT Education has organized a concentrated mountain climbing program within a certain period of time, with the participation of all cadres, lecturers and employees. Most recently, in November 2024, about 6,000 cadres, lecturers and employees nationwide participated in mountain climbing on a voluntary basis, were instructed on safety principles and had the accompaniment and support of local guides and experts in organizing mountain climbing activities."

Dr. Tung believes that through this activity, cadres, lecturers, and employees have the opportunity to improve their health and strengthen relationships. In addition, with the characteristics of mountain climbing, an activity that requires both physical and mental strength, participants can train themselves to be resilient and overcome their own limits.
