Sheffield became the first team to be relegated from the Premier League this season, after losing 1-5 to Newcastle. Coach Chris Wilder's team is at the bottom of the table with 16 points, 10 points behind safety Nottingham Forest with only 3 games left.
Sheffield have conceded 97 goals and could break Swidon's sad record of conceding 100 goals in the Premier League in the 1993/1994 season. In addition, Sheffield have a goal difference of -63 and could break Derby's worst goal difference record (-69) in the 2007/2008 season.
The relegation battle is now a three-horse race between Nottingham (26 points, 34 games) and Luton Town (25 points, 35 games) and Burnley (24 points, 35 games). Brentford have successfully stayed up with 35 points and 10 points above the relegation zone.
In the championship race, Liverpool seemed to have “raised the white flag” after a 2-2 draw with West Ham. Coach Jurgen Klopp and his team are currently in 3rd place with 75 points and are at risk of being left behind by Man City and Arsenal after the matches on Sunday night, April 28.
Aston Villa's top-four position is in doubt after a 2-2 draw with Chelsea. They have 67 points, 7 more than Tottenham, but the Roosters have 3 games left to play.
