Hoi An Park was built in 2003, stretching along two of the most beautiful and bustling streets in Thanh Hoa City, Le Hoan Street and Le Loi Avenue, with an area of about 24 hectares. This is a project that marks the strong "relationship" between Thanh Hoa City and Hoi An City. Deeply aware of the potential and value of Hoi An Park, in recent years, Thanh Hoa City has had many practical and meaningful activities to widely promote the beauty of culture, tourism and the strong affection between Thanh Hoa City and Hoi An City (Quang Nam) to the people and tourists from all over the world; diversifying attractive and unique products and entertainment spots, promoting tourism development. In addition to periodically organizing a series of events within the framework of the Thanh Hoa City - Hoi An City Cultural Week or on holidays and Tet, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa City organizes a weekly Saturday night art program with the theme "Weekend rendezvous"...
Thanh Hoa City People's Committee has issued a plan to manage, exploit and operate the Hoi An ancient town version in the form of socialization. Mr. Hoang Cao Thang, Director of the Center for Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa City, commented: "With the aim of diversifying and improving the spiritual life of the people, promoting the development of tourism in Thanh Hoa City, in the past few years, the cultural activities of the city in general, Hoi An cultural space in particular, have always received the participation and enthusiastic response of organizations, individuals, businesses and the social community. At some major events such as: Thanh Hoa City - Hoi An City Cultural Week; Cultural - Art Program to celebrate National Day (September 2) ..., some businesses have coordinated to invest in decorating spaces, organizing culinary festivals, displaying and introducing products, ... with a total budget of billions of VND. Many organizations and individuals voluntarily participate in organizing exhibition booths and promoting culture in the Hoi An ancient town version. It can be affirmed that the mobilization of socialization is of great significance, playing an important role in organizing activities, contributing to making Hoi An cultural space more beautiful and attractive in the eyes of tourists, raising the level of tourism products for Thanh Hoa City.
The Hoi An ancient town version consists of 15 booths arranged for display and cooperation with organizations, individuals, and businesses that have products for display, experience, and beverage service. The activities of the ancient town version are divided into 2 areas, tentatively called area A and area B, with the Japanese Covered Bridge version as the boundary. The 9 ancient town booths (counting from the gate of Hoi An Park, tentatively called area A) are quite active and dynamic, with both cultural diversity and clear cultural exchange between Thanh Hoa and Hoi An.
Thanh Hoa City Center for Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism has made efforts to connect with organizations and individuals who have love, passion, deep understanding of preserving and promoting cultural values, have a spirit for the community, promote the development of Thanh Hoa City tourism... participating in events, activities, joining hands to create a colorful cultural space, aiming at traditional and humane values in the version of Hoi An ancient town. From there, in addition to spaces displaying images of cultural history, combining the promotion of Thanh Hoa City tourism, Hoi An handicraft products; impressive cultural spaces such as: Hac Thanh Historical Museum; Thanh Hoa Library; Vietnamese Traditional Costumes; Men's House; Hoai Music Street; Truc Chi Quan - Preserving the Soul of Vietnamese Bamboo; Hoi An Book Room...
Although it has not been in operation and opened to welcome guests for a long time, each cultural space has been carefully invested, bearing a strong personal mark, attracting the attention and love of many tourists. Mentioning Hac Thanh Historical Museum; Thanh Hoa Library, one immediately thinks of a space full of nostalgia and antiquity. The owner of this place is Mr. Nguyen Huu Ngon - a person with love, passion, and knowledge of culture. He is a familiar face in cultural events and playgrounds; regularly donates artifacts to Thanh Hoa Provincial Museum; and is also the owner of many unique collections such as: Collection of agricultural tools, stamps, spring newspapers, clocks, bicycles...
Participating in the "game" in the Hoi An ancient town version from the very first days, Mr. Nguyen Huu Ngon had no other purpose than to satisfy his passion, to contribute what he had to promote and spread the beauty of the land and people of the ancient Hac Thanh, Thanh Hoa city today in particular, and Thanh Hoa province in general. Mr. Ngon confided: "From the reality happening in the lives of residential areas, the owners of the cultural spaces here met together, agreed to build operating regulations, and elected a street chief. The regulations are to open to welcome guests on Saturdays and Sundays every week, regularly organize cultural activities by theme, be unified in diversity, and serve tourists for free".
Ms. Hoang Thi Van (Thanh Hoa City) and her daughter and a few friends were excited and happy to see the traditional costumes of Vietnamese ethnic groups. After taking souvenir photos, Ms. Van and her friends enjoyed morning coffee and chatted while her daughter was absorbed in painting statues. Services such as serving drinks, painting statues... have recently been deployed by the owners of "Men's House" to increase the attraction and experience of visitors when coming to the exhibition space. Ms. Van shared: "As a resident of the city for more than ten years, I don't remember how many times I have been to Hoi An Park, but I am really surprised by the development of this place. Organizing cultural spaces that are both imbued with personal characteristics and imprints and blend into the overall, common goals like this really brings an interesting experience, suitable for all ages, true to the essence of cultural tourism".
In the context of increasingly rapid urbanization, increasingly hurried urban life, and many pressures, urban residents need more public cultural spaces such as Hoi An Park. That is where they can leisurely stroll, exercise in a green space with shady trees, have fun with friends and relatives every weekend, and find familiar cultural values without having to travel far. Along with that, the center continues to focus on tourism promotion; innovate operating methods; diversify tourism products..., thereby striving to make tourism a strong economic sector, accounting for an increasingly high proportion in the GDP structure, creating a driving force for socio-economic development".
The maintenance and development of cultural activities at Hoi An Park have become more vibrant and attractive thanks to the participation and contribution of organizations, individuals and businesses. In the context of limited resources, the socialization of cultural activities is the right direction, in line with the trend. However, looking at the activities at the Hoi An ancient town version, it is thought that Thanh Hoa City needs to pay more attention, acknowledge and provide more timely "support" to the participants, especially in management and security work...
