This is a vibrant sideline activity within the framework of the 2024 ASEAN Manufacturing Expo (FBC ASEAN 2024) taking place from September 18 to 20.
The competition is a creative playground for VASI member businesses and close partners and guests of VAS. This is also an opportunity for Vietnamese engineers to freely demonstrate their skills in designing and manufacturing spinning tops. Coming to the competition, businesses not only have the opportunity to compete, but also can exchange, learn and build long-term cooperative relationships.
In the competition, each enterprise can register up to 3 teams. Each team can register up to 3 members. Each team can register up to 2 spinning tops. Images and specifications of the spinning top (overall spinning top and spinning top assembly details) must be sent to the Organizing Committee 5 days before the competition and the registered spinning top cannot be changed.
The teams compete according to the following format: each participating team will have 3 spins of the spinning top. The Organizing Committee will take the highest result of the 3 spins to compare the rankings between the teams. The recorded time is calculated from the moment the spinning top starts to contact the competition circle until the spinning top stops. In case of violations, the result will not be recorded and the spin will be considered lost.
Competition method: two teams compete against each other on a competition table with a diameter of 250mm, concave surface R=700mm. The representative of the competing team uses 1 hand to spin the top around the competition table. Each match will consist of 3 rounds. The team with more winning rounds is the overall winner. If a team wins 2 consecutive rounds, that team wins the overall winner and the match ends immediately.
The “VASI Top Battle 2024” competition is a new and attractive “playground” not only for participating teams but also for audiences interested in the field of mechanical engineering. Elaborately crafted tops with many complex and unique shapes using modern processing machines have been brought to compete by businesses in this tournament.
This is the first time VASI has hosted the "VASI Top Battle 2024" competition, with the hope that the competition will become an annual activity, helping to connect Vietnamese mechanical engineering enterprises, while promoting public interest in the country's supporting industry.
At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee honored businesses and teams with excellent manufacturing technology, creative design, meticulous processing and effective teamwork: In the competition, there was 1 First Prize (worth 10,000,000 VND + Certificate), 1 Second Prize (worth 7,000,000 VND + Certificate), 1 Third Prize (worth 5,000,000 VND + Certificate).
In the timed competition, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize (worth 5,000,000 VND + Certificate), 1 Second Prize (worth 3,000,000 VND + Certificate), 1 Third Prize (worth 2,000,000 VND + Certificate).
The representative of the Organizing Committee said that Vietnam has become a bright spot on the world's manufacturing industry map, attracting large technology corporations and component companies in the fields of semiconductors, aviation, electric vehicles, renewable energy, etc. These new industries require precision and sophisticated techniques, with extremely strict standards. Vietnamese enterprises are also gradually innovating to meet and participate more deeply in these production chains.
Through the competition, the Organizing Committee wants to prove to the world that Vietnamese businesses and Vietnamese people are ready to accept new opportunities and challenges with meticulousness, creativity, and a spirit of cooperation and sharing.
