Vinasun launches first Hybrid taxi in Vietnam

The event is considered a breakthrough step to change the new look of Vinasun as the first taxi company to use Hybrid cars, applying advanced technology to contribute to environmental protection in passenger transport business in Vietnam.

“The launching ceremony of the first Hybrid Taxi service in Vietnam and the strategic cooperation project between Vinasun and Toyota” was held at Diamond Place Hotel (15A Ho Van Hue, Phu Nhuan District, HCMC).

In 2024, Vinasun Taxi officially signed a contract and is expected to receive 806 Hybrid vehicles with Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid, Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid, Toyota Innova Cross Hybrid models from Toyota Dong Sai Gon and operate taxi business. These are sophisticated and luxurious car models with high-quality materials. Amenities such as central display screen, sound system, and comfortable seats bring a better experience to customers.

The investment in converting traditional gasoline vehicles to environmentally friendly vehicles has been carefully studied by Vinasun's management step by step to suit the business characteristics of the enterprise. With Hybrid vehicles, not only does it help Vinasun save operating costs on fuel, it does not take time to charge the battery, and especially it can reduce CO2 emissions, meeting the goal of environmental protection. Vinasun Taxi is committed to maintaining the service fare, and is committed to bringing the best experience to customers on every trip.

Along with the launch of the first Hybrid Taxi service in Vietnam, there was also a signing ceremony of a strategic cooperation project between Vinasun and Toyota for the investment plan of 2,000 Toyota Hybrid vehicles by 2025. This is a long-term development strategy of Vinasun and Toyota Vietnam aiming to satisfy and highly trust in service quality, bring the best experience to customers, and actively contribute to creating a clean, safe, and convenient traffic environment.

Mr. Dang Thanh Duy, General Director of Vinasun Taxi shared: "The Vietnamese market is still in the process of perfecting its infrastructure as well as the risks of battery waste treatment, so Vinasun decided to choose the Hybrid car line because it can reduce fuel consumption by up to 50% compared to gasoline cars, and at the same time, there is no opportunity cost of waiting time to charge the battery".

In addition to replacing the old fleet with advanced Hybrid vehicles, Vinasun also focuses on improving the quality of customer service. In addition to training drivers on Hybrid vehicle operation skills, Vinasun also organizes soft skills training for all drivers to further improve their behavior, communication, positive service and respect for customers, led by two members of the executive board of HH Concierge Vietnam, Mr. Dang Trung Truc, Head of Front Office Department of The Reverie Saigon, and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Danh, Head of Front Office Department of Renaissance Hotel.
