Professor Vu Ha Van, Director of Science at VinBigdata, said: The launch of a "Vietnamese version of ChatGPT" marks Vietnam's ability to master technology. Even more, through mastering technology, it is possible to autonomously exploit and protect national data security, along with a knowledge system and ideology with Vietnamese identity. This direction will not only allow to eliminate dependence on international products, but also gradually improve the accuracy of information containing Vietnamese historical and cultural values ​​and reduce the flow of data abroad.

There will be 3 versions of ViGPT brought to end users, including a version for the community that possesses a large amount of knowledge, with the ability to create content, search, synthesize, extract information, and answer common questions. The difference and advantage of ViGPT compared to other applications that have been launched is that the information focuses on specific areas of Vietnam such as law, history, culture, famous people, scenic spots, regional characteristics, etc.

The next version will be dedicated to the scientific community with its own specific knowledge.

The enterprise version is integrated into the VinBase 2.0 artificial intelligence platform. The version will contribute to changing operating habits and improving business efficiency, marketing, customer service, and risk management.

With mastery from the deepest core model layers to developing applications for end users of VinBigdata, ViGPT owns 1.6 billion parameters with more than 600GB of refined Vietnamese data taken from many fields.

Currently, VinBigdata is also applying the above technology in recently launched products such as legal virtual assistants for citizens of state agencies and the upcoming product is the ViVi virtual assistant integrated with AI generated on VinFast electric vehicles.

Mastering technology and self-developing, launching the first "Vietnamese version of ChatGPT" for end users is considered a step forward to help VinBigdata bring AI technology into the ecosystem of products and services on the market. The company also strives towards the philosophy of "Technology for humanity" with the mission of creating "Make in Vietnam" AI products of international standards, promoting and improving the lives of Vietnamese people.

The community version of ViGPT will be open to the first 1,000 users to experience within 15 days from December 27, 2023 to January 10, 2024, after which it will be refined and provided free of charge to non-profit organizations in need, with the user only paying for the related resource costs. Users can directly access the application and easily interact with ViGPT in Vietnamese on the web interface, similar to OpenAI's ChatGPT. Through this, VinBigdata hopes to listen to users' feedback to continue improving and upgrading to help the version become more and more complete.
