Viettel retains position as most valuable brand in Vietnam

In the 2024 Ranking of the 100 Most Valuable Brands in Vietnam recently announced by Brand Finance - the world's leading brand valuation company, the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel) maintained its position as the most valuable brand in Vietnam for 9 consecutive years, and is also the enterprise most highly appreciated by the public for sustainable development.

In 2024, the public perception value of Viettel's sustainable development level is estimated to reach 756 million USD. This is the second year Brand Finance has measured this value and Viettel has been leading for 2 consecutive years since 2015, maintaining a gap of 3-7 times compared to the following brands operating in the fields of telecommunications, food and beverage (F&B), banking, and real estate. According to Brand Finance, this value represents consumers' assessment of the level of commitment to sustainable development of the enterprise. The index shows that Viettel's technological and financial contributions to solving social problems and improving the quality of life of Vietnamese people are highly appreciated by the public. This assessment contributes to Viettel's overall brand value of 8.9 billion USD. Explaining Viettel's ability to maintain growth compared to other brands, Brand Finance cited the 5G deployment plan and customer assessments of product and service quality and commitment to sustainable development. In other countries and regions around the world, businesses ranked by Brand Finance in terms of brand value and consumer assessment of sustainable development include Samsung, T-Mobile, ARM, etc. Viettel Group said that in the early 2000s, Viettel operated with a business philosophy closely linked to social responsibility, focusing on human development, demonstrated through prioritizing the popularization of mobile networks in rural areas. In the following years, Viettel contributed to sustainable development goals through popularizing technology and implementing programs such as Vi em hieu hoc, Trai tim cho em, Internet truoc suc, etc. In the 4th development stage (2018-2028), Viettel set the goal of pioneering and leading the way in building a digital government to better serve people; building a digital economy to make people richer; building a digital society to make people happier; building network security to make people safer. In 2023, 259 billion VND is the amount that Viettel will spend on activities supporting education, healthcare, gratitude activities, and supporting people in difficult circumstances. In the same year, Viettel will develop a Sustainable Development Report with the theme "Technology with heart". In 2024, Viettel will continue to promote sustainable development activities in key areas including: developing high-quality human resources, creating a digital society, ensuring information security, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, developing smart green data centers and transparent governance.
