On the afternoon of March 19, 2025 in Hanoi, the Central Policy and Strategy Committee had a working session with the high-level business delegation of the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC).

This is a delegation of nearly 60 American businesses, operating in many fields, and is also the largest American business delegation to Vietnam ever under the annual program organized by USABC, including many big names such as: Boeing, Apple, Intel, Coca-Cola, Meta, Nike, Amazon and Bell Textron, Excelerate Energy...

Chairing the working session with the US business delegation was Deputy Head of the Standing Committee, Central Policy and Strategy Committee, Member of the Party Central Committee, Thai Thanh Quy.

USABC advises Vietnam on solutions to cope with difficulties in economic and trade relations between the two countries, strengthens cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises to promote investment cooperation in Vietnam's priority areas and the strengths of US enterprises.

Vietnam-US bilateral trade and investment relations are at their best ever. Currently, the US is Vietnam’s largest export market, Vietnam is the US’s 8th largest trading partner, and is also the US’s largest trading partner in ASEAN.

  Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee, Thai Thanh Quy, highly appreciated the delegation of 60 US enterprises coming to Vietnam this time, acknowledging the interest of US enterprises in Vietnam, which is even more meaningful when 2025 marks 30 years of normalization of Vietnam - US relations.

"The consistent policy of the Vietnamese Party and State has always been to consider the US as a top important partner," Mr. Quy said.

In response, former US Ambassador to Vietnam, President and CEO of USABC, Ted Osius emphasized: "Vietnam and the US have achieved many successes in trade, investment, culture and many other fields. These achievements have important contributions from US businesses."

The desire of US businesses is to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam, contribute more to promoting bilateral economic cooperation, especially in important areas such as promoting digital transformation, innovation, energy development, digital economic development, semiconductor industry, high-tech industry, etc.

According to USABC General Director Ted Osius , the areas in which American businesses are interested in investing and cooperating in Vietnam in the coming time include: Developing projects in renewable energy, aviation, artificial intelligence, healthcare, semiconductor industry, developing manufacturing supply chains, financial services, developing digital economy, circular economy, etc.

To quickly launch these projects, American businesses hope to receive support and increased cooperation with Vietnamese agencies in general and the Central Policy and Strategy Committee in particular in creating a favorable business environment for American businesses to invest in Vietnam.

Representatives of US businesses pledged to continue to accompany and closely coordinate with Vietnam, actively promote the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in general and economic-trade-investment cooperation between the US and Vietnam in particular to develop more deeply, effectively, substantially, in accordance with the wishes and interests of both sides.

On the one hand, affirming that the Central Policy and Strategy Committee strongly supports the activities of USABC, especially supporting American businesses to operate effectively in Vietnam, Mr. Thai Thanh Quy pledged: " The Central Policy and Strategy Committee will coordinate with relevant agencies to research, advise, and propose to remove obstacles; continue to perfect the policy framework, improve the investment environment to be increasingly stable and favorable for American businesses to invest long-term in Vietnam".

To increase connectivity and make the investment and trade cooperation between Vietnam and the US more substantial and effective, Mr. Quy suggested that USABC further strengthen its bridging role and contribute recommendations to the Central Policy and Strategy Committee on major policies and guidelines in the socio-economic field to improve Vietnam's investment and business environment.
