Less than 2 minutes after the kick-off, the Vietnamese futsal team scored. Thai Huy performed solo on the right wing and then shot diagonally to start the rain of goals against Brunei.
Less than 1 minute later, the Vietnamese futsal team scored the second goal, again by Thai Huy. With 2 early goals, the Vietnamese futsal team played loosely, threatening Van Y's goal.
A typical situation was in the 5th minute, Amirul escaped and if goalkeeper Van Y had not used his foot to block, Brunei would have scored a goal to shorten the score. It was also this move that made coach Diego Giustozzi's students play more focused.
In the 10th minute, Doan Phat curled a shot to increase the score to 3-0. The Vietnamese futsal team really wanted to score more goals but could not penetrate Brunei's net due to the opponent's aggressive play. Therefore, coach Diego Giustozzi used the power-play tactic in the last 3 minutes of the first half but could not score more goals.
On the contrary, the Vietnamese futsal team had to receive a 10m penalty for committing a sixth combined foul in the 18th minute, but once again, Van Y made an excellent save to block Metali's shot to keep the home team's net intact.
In the second half, Brunei lost strength while the Vietnamese futsal team continued to increase the pressure. In the first minute of the second half, Nhat Trung fired a shot from the right wing to score the fourth goal for the home team.
A minute later, Anh Dung scored to raise the score to 5-0. Following that, Duc Hoa (26'), Thai Huy (27'), Thinh Phat (31'), Minh Quang (33', 34'), Mi Woen (35', 36'), Da Hai (38'), Ngoc Anh (39') scored to bring a resounding 14-0 victory to the Vietnamese futsal team.
Thus, the Vietnamese futsal team has won all 3 matches. As long as Malaysia fails to beat Thailand in the match taking place at 6pm tonight (November 5), Duc Hoa and his teammates will secure a ticket to the semi-finals one round early.
