With the spirit of "all for beloved juniors", Quang Xuong District Youth Union has paid attention to and implemented many activities to care for, protect (CSBV), and educate children.
CSBV, child education is one of the important tasks of the Youth Union, therefore every year Quang Xuong District Youth Union has proactively developed plans and organized activities, and at the same time directed grassroots Youth Union organizations to effectively implement many CSBV, child education activities suitable to the local situation such as guiding children to excel in their studies, actively participate in social work; organize care activities, help children overcome difficulties, strive to excel in their studies and life.
From 2022 to present, the district Youth Union has directed 100% of commune and town youth unions to effectively deploy and implement the model "Foster children of the Youth Union"; build playgrounds in residential communities for children; launch a movement to make "Propaganda signs" to encourage creativity, promote children's talents and strengths, and at the same time train children's basic skills. The movement has attracted 100% of the youth union to participate and has installed 560 signs at schools in the district.
To create a healthy environment and safe playground for children, the district youth union has implemented many useful activities such as: Drawing and decorating bulletin boards; decorating school-level wall newspapers; "Smoke-free world" painting contest; "Flashmob playground", organizing the festival "Happy, healthy children - Stepping up to the union"; "Experiential and creative recess", golden bell ringing contest, book festival, art performance, tug of war contest, mini football tournament, folk games... The basic activities have educated traditions, ethics, and lifestyles for teenagers and children, helping them practice basic skills, promote strengths, become more confident, and gradually improve themselves. Also through the activities, the grassroots youth union staff has promptly grasped the children's wishes, detected abnormalities to promptly take preventive measures and notify the school, family, and local leaders.
The District Youth Union has focused on propaganda work, raising public awareness of child protection work and children's rights on social networking platforms; organizing forums, talks, and extracurricular activities to raise knowledge for teenagers, children, teachers, and parents on issues such as preventing accidents, injuries, drowning, and child abuse; the harmful effects of drugs, stimulants, and social evils. At the same time, organizing training on drowning prevention skills, identifying adverse situations, and abuse prevention skills for union, association, and team officials and youth, children, and teenagers in the district; organizing swimming classes for children. To proactively protect children from drowning, the Youth Union of communes and towns has stepped up propaganda and screening to promptly detect deep holes, ponds, lakes, rivers, and water areas that often occur or are at risk of drowning accidents in the area; Install barriers and warning signs.
Along with organizing activities to create a safe, healthy and beneficial environment for children, the district youth union also pays attention to supporting and helping children in difficult circumstances in the area. On holidays such as Mid-Autumn Festival, International Children's Day 1-6, Lunar New Year, the youth union at all levels has supported scholarships for poor students who overcome difficulties, built red scarf houses, visited and gave gifts to children in difficult circumstances... Along with that, the district youth union has strengthened coordination with the education and training sector, the labor - war invalids and social affairs sector, unions, social organizations, and related units to create favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms, facilities, and resources to organize activities to care for, educate, and protect children and adolescents. On average, thousands of children in difficult circumstances are cared for and supported each year.
Secretary of the Quang Xuong District Youth Union Nguyen Hong Anh said: Child care and education are important tasks to help future young buds develop comprehensively. The practical and diverse activities of the Youth Union at all levels have contributed to the effective implementation of child care and education in the district. The District Youth Union will continue to advise the Party Committee, the government and departments, branches, associations and organizations to coordinate more actively in child care and education. The District Youth Union will also strive to organize summer activities in 2023 to create a useful, healthy and safe playground for children, helping them develop comprehensively.
