* Traveling to Ninh Thuan, I saw a beach in Khanh Hai town that was sometimes written Ninh Chu (question mark) and sometimes Ninh Chu (tilde). Please tell me which way is correct? What is special about this tourist beach? (Nguyen Van Hoang, Thanh Khe, Da Nang).

- Currently, there are many documents, forums, websites... that record the famous tourist beach of Ninh Thuan province as Ninh Chu (tilde). However, this is an inaccurate way of recording, because it combines a word of Chinese origin [Ninh (寧): safe, peaceful] with a pure Vietnamese word [Chữ: A system of symbols using lines to record speech]. Some documents have pointed out this confusion, such as the article "Detailed explanation of Ninh Chu beach" posted on scr.vn (Sharing 1001 in-depth technology tips).

Accordingly, in the past, this place was named in Chinese characters as Ninh Chu (question mark) because this was a beautiful bay with calm, peaceful waves. According to Chinese characters, Ninh means peace, harmony; Chu [渚] (question mark) means wharf, shore. In Ninh Thuan, there are also some place names such as La Chu, Hai Chu, Minh Chu, recorded in the Nguyen Dynasty Land Register in 1836.

Later, perhaps due to the pronunciation of the Southern people without distinguishing between the question mark and the falling tone, this place name was written as Ninh Chu (tilde), which is commonly used in documents and information on social networking sites. Therefore, this place name was accepted for a long time in both "Ninh Chu" and "Ninh Chu" writings. However, in recent years, when Ninh Thuan tourism has grown strongly, this place name has been focused on by the authorities and suggested to be recorded in its original semantics as Ninh Chu to emphasize the peace and safety of Ninh Thuan tourist beach.

Ninh Chu Beach is located in Ninh Chu village, Khanh Hai town, Ninh Thuan province; located about 50km east of Phan Rang city center and about 350km from Ho Chi Minh City, so it is very convenient for traveling. Binh Thuan Newspaper, in the article Little-known facts about Ninh Chu beach: Foreign tourists "love it" quoted information from Mark Gwyther, an American travel blogger, shared on citypassguide.com (providing information about tourism, cuisine and culture of major cities in Vietnam and Southeast Asia) as follows: "Ninh Chu Bay, a splendid 10km long crescent, is considered one of the 9 most beautiful beaches in Vietnam. Most of the year, the sea is safe for swimming. The sunrise is spectacular and it is interesting to witness the locals going through their morning activities".

Because it has only recently been put into tourism exploitation, this beach is still quite wild and peaceful. These are the factors that attract tourists here. At first sight, visitors will be attracted by the pristine, poetic beauty with blue sea, white sand, and golden sunshine. The peaceful atmosphere helps visitors temporarily escape from all the noise, haste, and hustle of modern life.

Coming here, tourists often spend time swimming and participating in game activities such as: beach volleyball, shuttlecock kicking, windsurfing, fishing, diving to see coral,... In addition, tourists often combine visiting nearby scenic spots such as Da Chong mountain, Tan An mountain, Ca Du mountain... undulating with many strange shapes, many challenging steep cliffs for tourists to freely explore.
