General Secretary inspects Lien Chieu port project

On the morning of March 29, 2025, General Secretary To Lam and the Central working delegation inspected the actual progress of the construction of the Lien Chieu Port project for shared infrastructure. Also accompanying the city leaders were Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang and Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh.

The Lien Chieu Port Project for shared infrastructure has been approved by the Prime Minister with a total investment of VND 3,426 billion, from the central budget and the city budget. The scale of the project includes the construction of a breakwater and a dyke with a total length of 1,170m; a shipping channel of about 7.3km long and 160m wide; a traffic road connecting to the port gate, with a scale of 6 lanes and a width of 30m; along with technical infrastructure for electricity, water supply and synchronous auxiliary works to the gate of the starting port area. To date, the project construction has reached 77.5% of the contract value and the project will be completed by the end of 2025. Currently, the People's Committee of Da Nang city reports and proposes to the Prime Minister on the investment calling plan, ensuring the selection of investors with the capacity to manage, construct, exploit and develop a modern Lien Chieu seaport, meeting the standards of a green port and an international transit port.

General Secretary To Lam presents gifts to encourage units constructing Lien Chieu port project

Through the on-site inspection, General Secretary To Lam praised the efforts of the city and the investors and contractors directly implementing the project to ensure the set progress. Emphasizing the importance of port management, the General Secretary requested to study models in other countries, apply technology, and operate intelligently.

General Secretary To Lam also agreed and proposed to promote calling for strategic investors to invest synchronously in the port in the future. He suggested that the city direct relevant units to continue to speed up the progress to ensure the project is completed as planned.

Also this morning, General Secretary To Lam and the working delegation inspected the Da Nang Software Park No. 2, a project that was just inaugurated by Da Nang city in early 2025 and put into use the ICT1 building with a scale of 8 floors and an exploitation area of 21,000m2/.
