IFAD assessment team works in Mo Cay Nam district

BDK.VN - On March 29, 2025, the National Strategy and Program Evaluation (CSPE) delegation, led by Mr. Paolo Silveri - the lead evaluator (IFAD Independent Evaluation Office), had a working trip to Mo Cay Nam district with households, groups, and businesses participating in IFAD's models and projects.

In the morning, the delegation worked and learned about the effectiveness and impact of support content for farmers, especially livelihood development and climate change adaptation in Tan Trung commune supported by the AMD project in 2018.

Specifically, the delegation came to directly survey and discuss with households weaving plastic baskets to create jobs for local workers in Tan Ngai hamlet; worked with coconut businesses in Tan Hau 2 hamlet; visited and worked with beneficiaries of the Tan An - Tan Hau 1 hamlet traffic dike project (support project in 2020).

The delegation continued working in the afternoon with the following contents: Working with households borrowing capital from the Women's Development Support Fund in Ngai Dang Commune, Mo Cay Nam District on the effectiveness of using loan capital in household economic development. Working with Ben Tre Coconut Investment Joint Stock Company (BEINCO), a business that benefits from the PPP Fund of the AMD Project.

It is known that the working program of the IFAD National Strategy and Program Evaluation Delegation will last 4 days from March 26 to 29, 2025 in the province. The field trip to Mo Cay Nam district is the last trip, concluding the series of activities of the delegation. After that, the delegation will continue to travel and work in Tra Vinh province.

Over the past 16 years of implementation, IFAD’s DBRP, AMD and CSAT projects, funded with tens of millions of USD, have made important contributions to the socio-economic development of Ben Tre province. Through improving infrastructure, providing financial support, providing skills training and promoting agricultural value chains, these projects have helped improve the quality of life for thousands of households, especially poor households in rural areas.
