Thanh Hoa is considered the "cradle" of culture with Dong Son culture - a brilliant peak of national culture and a rich and unique treasure of tangible and intangible cultural heritage. From that traditional source, Thanh Hoa culture has always developed and integrated in a progressive direction imbued with national identity. One of the ways to promote the "foundational" role of culture is to build a healthy and safe cultural environment through the implementation of resolutions, policies and movements on building and developing culture. A typical example is the implementation of the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" (TDĐKXDĐSVH) associated with the implementation of Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW on building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development.
In 2024, Thanh Hoa province summarized 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW on building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development. The results achieved in implementing Resolution No. 33 have become a "good signal" for building a civilized, healthy, and safe cultural environment in the direction of both progress and imbued with the national identity of Thanh Hoa.
Notably, the cultural environment is built synchronously in families, schools and communities through the continued and effective implementation of the movement for physical education and cultural development. Many good values of family and clan are promoted, and domestic violence is controlled. People are focused on building their ideology, morality, lifestyle and personality towards the values of truth - goodness - beauty.
Along with that, the movement of physical training and sports for building cultural life has been continued to be implemented extensively and substantially by sectors and localities. The effectiveness of the implementation of 5 contents and 7 movements of the movement of physical training and sports for building cultural life in localities has created solidarity in the community. People unite to help each other develop the economy, build happy families; actively participate in emulation movements in localities, thanks to which the appearance of urban and rural areas has been improved, completed, bright, green, clean and beautiful by the people. Cultural and sports movements at the grassroots level have developed into healthy playgrounds for people. New lifestyles and civilized behavior have been formed and maintained through the implementation of regulations on weddings, funerals and festivals according to the new lifestyle along with regulations in village conventions and conventions. Up to now, the whole province has more than 11,620 family clubs. The rate of cultural families reaches 83%; The rate of villages, hamlets and residential groups recognized as cultural residential areas reached 82.3%.
This is demonstrated by reality in localities, typically in the districts of Yen Dinh, Quang Xuong, Nong Cong, Hoang Hoa, Quan Hoa...
Coming to Yen Dinh district, we will feel the strong and enduring vitality of the culture here. Traditional festivals are being restored and promoted, notably the Dong Co temple festival, which was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2024. Cultural and sports activities take place enthusiastically every morning and late afternoon at cultural houses and sports areas in villages. Movements to clean up the environment, donate land to open roads, build public works, and effective economic models... are actively responded to by the people. The rate of cultural families reaches 98.03%; the rate of cultural villages and residential groups reaches 100%.
Creating endogenous strength for development
The results achieved in building a cultural environment from the effective implementation of the movement for physical training and sports to build a cultural life associated with resolutions, policies and movements on culture have affirmed that Thanh culture has been and is gradually developing sustainably, civilized, healthy, and imbued with national identity. At the same time, culture that is cared for and developed will become a solid foundation to create positive changes in social life.
Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Pham Nguyen Hong said: “The movement of physical training and sports for building cultural life is a large, diverse and rich movement in content, affecting many areas of social life. In order to effectively implement the movement of physical training and sports for building cultural life towards the goal of building a healthy and advanced cultural environment imbued with national cultural identity, the culture, sports and tourism sector and localities have regularly innovated implementation methods, concretized contents and movements so that the movement of physical training and sports for building cultural life is closer to the people, bringing the movement to develop in a sustainable and practical direction. Thereby, contributing to affirming that culture is the foundation, the "endogenous strength" for comprehensive development".
Aiming at the goal of building a healthy, advanced cultural environment imbued with national identity, the culture, sports and tourism sector will continue to improve the effectiveness of the implementation of the movement for physical training and sports development. In particular, promoting the dissemination of the Party and State's guidelines, policies and laws on the movement for physical training and sports development; continuing to effectively implement the province's programs and projects on improving the quality of cultural activities and movements; linking the implementation of the movement for physical training and sports development with the movements and tasks of the sector and localities; strengthening the direction of local Party committees, authorities and socio-political organizations; seriously, objectively and fairly implementing the evaluation of cultural titles; building and perfecting cultural and sports institutions...
