TPO - Metro Line No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) officially started a trial run for 2 months. During this time, the trains will run like the future commercial operations with a 4-minute 30-second interval between trains.
According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board (MAUR), metro line No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) has officially been put into trial operation since October 1, after the unit provided theoretical and practical training for employees of the Urban Railway Company No. 1 (HURC1).
The commissioning will be carried out in two phases. Phase 1 will be led by Japanese NJPT consultants, while Phase 2 will be carried out by HURC1 Company staff.

The trial operation will be carried out from October 1 to November 17, 2024 with 47 different scenarios. The scenarios are built from normal operation to emergency situations such as fire, explosion, power outage, flooding, signal loss, etc. at different locations along the entire metro line No. 1 (including elevated sections and in tunnels).
Prior to the trial operation, MAUR completed the signing of agreements with the contractor Hitachi and construction contractors on the use of equipment for training and trial operation.
"During the trial operation, the trains will run like in future commercial operations with an interval of 4 minutes and 30 seconds between trains," MAUR informed.
Operators from all positions will be mobilized, including train drivers, dispatchers at the control center (OCC), station staff, etc. A total of 71 employees will participate in the test operation in each shift. It is expected that there will be 2 shifts per day.

In parallel with the trial operation process, BVT system safety assessment consultants (a joint venture of Bureau Veritas of France and TEDI of Vietnam) will monitor, witness and assess the proficiency of HURC1 Company's employees in emergency situations.
On that basis, the State Acceptance Council for Construction Works under the Ministry of Construction will conduct acceptance to approve the project for commercial operation, expected in December 2024.
Recently, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a decision approving the adjustment of the project implementation time, including the completion time of construction at the end of the fourth quarter of 2024. Other contents remain unchanged compared to the decision approved in 2023.
The investor is fully responsible before the law for the content, accuracy and honesty of the information, reported data and submitted documents.
At the same time, MAUR is responsible for organizing the implementation of metro line 1 project in accordance with legal regulations to ensure quality, efficiency, construction completion time and commercial operation of the entire line by the end of this fourth quarter.
