More than 800 people participate in the Cross-Country - Armed Run in Da Nang

The Cross-country - Armed Run was organized by Da Nang Newspaper in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports, the City Military Command, the City Police, and the Department of Education and Training. This is an activity to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Da Nang City Party Committee, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang City, and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

The 28th Da Nang Newspaper Traditional Armed Cross-Country Race was held at Tien Son Sports Palace.

In its 28th edition, the Da Nang Newspaper Traditional Armed Cross-Country Race attracted the participation of more than 800 athletes from 82 agencies, units, localities and armed forces units located in the city, along with 14 professional athlete delegations from units and localities across the country.

More than 800 athletes competed on the morning of April 12.

Athlete Nguyen Minh Nhuong (Hai Chau district) shared: "I spent a whole month training and preparing for today's race with the hope of achieving good results. This is a very meaningful annual tournament, not only creating a useful playground but also helping me improve my health."

Athletes will compete in individual, team and group events, distances of 1.5km, 2km, 3km, 4km, 5km and 7km, and compete in groups including junior high school; high school; agencies, enterprises, schools and amateur athletes; districts; militia (wards, communes); self-defense agencies, enterprises, local troops; main force troops and professional athletes.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Vinh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee presented souvenir flags to the participating units.

Mr. Hua Van Hai, Head of the Organizing Committee, said: The Cross-Country - Armed Run not only contributes to the development of high-performance sports in Da Nang, but also creates great motivation for the physical training movement among all classes of people, cadres, civil servants, workers, students, and soldiers of the armed forces in Da Nang city.

"In order to improve the quality of the tournament and strongly spread the sports training movement in the community, every year, the organizing committee always adjusts and innovates appropriately. At the same time, we also record many valuable contributions from participating athletes, with the hope that the tournament will become more and more complete and successful. Athletes come to the tournament with an excited spirit, compete with a high spirit of determination and make every effort to conquer the best achievements", Mr. Hai shared.
