After 31 years of construction and development (October 29, 1993 - October 29, 2024), Thanh Hoa Provincial Cooperative Union has not only clearly demonstrated its role as a "midwife" for cooperatives and cooperative groups (THT), but also solved jobs and ensured the lives of members and workers in the collective economic sector (KTTT), contributing to the overall socio-economic development of the province in a sustainable direction.
In recent years, the Provincial Cooperative Union has effectively performed its function of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members, becoming a solid support for cooperatives and cooperative groups. Through the “support” from the Provincial Cooperative Union, many units have exploited the potential and strengths of the locality to develop production and business in the direction of regional linkages and production of goods according to the value chain.
Through the support and guidance of the Provincial Cooperative Union, many new cooperative models have been established, suitable to the actual needs of the locality, the activities of cooperatives are increasingly expanding in the direction of multi-sector, multi-occupation, multi-service. Since then, collective economy and cooperatives have become a channel to mobilize resources from the people to develop production, business, create jobs, increase income, contribute to hunger eradication, poverty reduction, agricultural restructuring and new rural construction, promote socio-economic development.
Dong Tien Agricultural Mechanization Service Cooperative (Dong Son) is one of the typical cooperative models that have developed effectively and sustainably thanks to the support of the Provincial Cooperative Union. Established in 2012 in the field of production and consumption of vegetables, tubers, fruits and flowers. With the goal of developing agriculture in the direction of high technology and providing synchronous mechanization services for agricultural production, the cooperative has invested large resources to build infrastructure, transfer technology and purchase machinery and equipment. Director of the cooperative Nguyen Xuan Thien said: With a large demand for capital to invest in production and service development, after joining the Provincial Cooperative Union, from 2018 to now, the cooperative has always had access to preferential loans from the Cooperative Development Support Fund and local agricultural development support programs. In addition, every year, the cooperative participates in many training courses, science and technology transfer, market access, product promotion branding, training and human resource development organized by the Provincial Cooperative Union. Thereby, the cooperative has more economic resources, skills and knowledge to develop production and business effectively.
It is known that after more than a decade of development, Dong Tien Agricultural Mechanization Service Cooperative has invested in building 37,000m2 of greenhouses. At the same time, it has invested billions of VND to purchase 4 straw rollers, 1 combine harvester, 1 seedling sowing machine, 2 transplanters, 2 plows and built a system of warehouses, product display shops, creating regular jobs for 10 workers and dozens of seasonal workers.
As the director of a cooperative with great influence, creating jobs for hundreds of workers in rural areas, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tham, Director of Tan Tho Small Industry Cooperative (Nong Cong) always participates in and responds to the activities of the Provincial Cooperative Union. Ms. Tham said: Every year, the management staff, members, and employees of the cooperative take turns participating in training courses to improve management capacity, production and business development skills, digital technology application, etc. organized by the Provincial Cooperative Union. This is not only an opportunity to improve skills and knowledge for workers and managers in the cooperative, but also an opportunity to exchange, connect, and find labor sources and consumption markets for products. Currently, through the Cooperative Union and mass organizations, the cooperative has built a large-scale production facility, creating jobs for about 400 workers.
With the guidance and support of the Provincial Cooperative Union, the activities of cooperatives are not limited to a few industries but have expanded to many fields. According to statistics, in the past time, the Provincial Cooperative Union has organized 195 training courses for 15,618 managers and cooperative members; organized 140 cooperatives to participate in trade promotion fairs organized by the Vietnam Cooperative Union, the Provincial People's Committee and localities; built 117 cooperative models associated with the value chain. At the same time, the Cooperative Development Support Fund was directed to advise, support and lend 214 projects and plans of cooperatives and cooperative members with a total loan of 70,762 billion VND so that cooperatives and cooperative members have capital to invest, expand production, business, and develop OCOP products... Since then, many effective cooperative models have become advanced examples in the cooperative economic sector nationwide such as: Phu Loc Agricultural Service Cooperative (Hau Loc), Chung Nghia General Production and Trade Cooperative (Ha Trung), Dinh Tuong People's Credit Fund (Yen Dinh), Tan Son Environmental Sanitation Cooperative (Thanh Hoa City)...
Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Union Nguyen Dinh Tuan said: In the coming time, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Cooperative Union will continue to do a good job of advising, participating in the development and implementation of policies and laws on the development of collective economy and cooperatives; consolidate and promote the role of "midwife" for the collective economy and cooperatives and be the agency representing the rights and legitimate interests of member cooperatives. At the same time, focus on emulation and reward work to replicate typical and outstanding cooperative and cooperative models, increase income for workers, and make an important contribution to the successful implementation of the tasks and goals of the province's overall socio-economic development.
