A silkworm breeding enterprise, with new, modern technology and completely independent of the national grid. That is Dinh Tam Company Limited - a silkworm breeding enterprise for export located in Dinh Van Industrial Cluster, Da Don Commune, Lam Ha District.

• SILK NURTURE WITH GREEN ENERGY

Mr. Nguyen Phi Chau - manager of Dinh Tam Silk Reeling Factory, Dinh Tam Company Limited said that the factory just started operating at the end of 2024, with the main goal of reeling silk and producing raw silk for export. "Our Dinh Tam Silk Reeling Factory imports new technology, the entire system, ensuring the quality of raw silk fibers meets the best export standards. As a newly built factory, located in an industrial park, Dinh Tam has invested in a system with full criteria for the goal of green production", Mr. Nguyen Phi Chau shared. Accordingly, unlike other factories using the national grid, Dinh Tam Silk Reeling Factory completely uses a solar power system. On all roofs and factory roofs of the company, solar panels are installed, providing enough energy for the silk reeling machines to operate. Apart from the initial period of using grid electricity to build infrastructure, since installing the rooftop solar power system, Dinh Tam no longer has to use the national grid for production.

"Currently, on average, Dinh Tam's rooftop solar power system produces approximately 100 million VND of electricity each month. Because the factory has just started operating in phase one, with only one incubator system, we have only used a quarter of its capacity. Dinh Tam is continuing to install silkworm incubators and gradually increasing its electricity usage capacity. In fact, with the company's solar power system, we do not need to use the national grid at all, just using solar power is enough for the production department. Dinh Tam invested in a solar power system with a storage battery, even during the rainy season, Dinh Tam still has enough electricity to produce for 5-7 consecutive days," said Mr. Chau.

In addition to electricity, Dinh Tam is also a business with a complete wastewater treatment system. Wastewater from the production stage is sent to the treatment area, through eight stages, from microbiology to physics, and the wastewater discharged into the environment meets domestic water standards. Wastewater is regularly tested at reputable centers, ensuring safety before being released into the Dinh Van Industrial Park system. "We determine that the more energy is saved, the more the factory's operating costs will be reduced. At the same time, green production and energy-saving production will be the trend of the new period. Therefore, Dinh Tam always puts the environmental factor first when building infrastructure as well as production machinery," Mr. Nguyen Phi Chau informed.

• ATTACHED TO THE LAND OF DA DON

K'Cúc - a girl from Dam Pao village, Da Don commune, Lam Ha district, has just started working at Dinh Tam Silk Reproduction Factory for four months. K'Cúc said that when she first started working, the company took her to a silk production enterprise in Nam Ban area to study. During her apprenticeship, K'Cúc still received support money to cover travel and accommodation expenses. Currently, with a salary of about 10 million VND/month, K'Cúc has a very stable source of income. The very young girl said that most of the workers in the company come from Dam Pao village, Da Don commune as well as Dinh Van town and neighboring areas. She commented: "The company pays salaries very regularly, on time, and the salary is also stable. At noon, workers have a place to stay, a canteen, full cooking and hygiene are ensured." Similar to K'Cuc, Dinh Van Nam, also a citizen of Dam Pao village, said that when he first joined, the management took him to several silk factories to study and observe the process. Through the training process, Dinh Tam's workers grasped the work very quickly and put it into production with good results.

“Sticking with the locality, employing local workers, and contributing to the consumption of silkworm cocoons of Lam Ha farmers is Dinh Tam’s priority. We determine that each meter of raw silk exported carries the value of Lam Ha land,” Mr. Nguyen Phi Chau committed. That is why up to 80% of Dinh Tam’s workers are local people, coming from neighboring villages and hamlets where the enterprise is located. To retain workers and build a team of skilled workers who are committed to the enterprise, Dinh Tam always ensures a very complete treatment regime for workers, from salary, bonus, health insurance, and social insurance. For example, the company is maintaining support for workers at a rate of 30,000 VND/meal.

It is known that although the enterprise has just started production, and is continuing to install equipment and recruit workers for training, Dinh Tam Company is building a grassroots trade union, standardizing the activities of the labor force, helping the enterprise operate in accordance with the law, while protecting the rights of workers, building a harmonious relationship between the enterprise and workers with the goal of long-term attachment to the land of Lam Ha.
