According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, implementing policies to mobilize investment capital for agricultural development in the period of 2021 - 2025, the whole province approved the implementation of over 37 programs and projects to restructure the industry towards comprehensive sustainability and modernity; linking value chains, connecting agriculture with small-scale industry; National Target Program (NTP) to build new rural areas; over 35 irrigation infrastructure works under the medium-term public investment plan with a total allocated capital of over VND 2,108.8 billion, 1.7 times higher than the period of 2016 - 2020. Of which, nearly VND 1,011.2 billion is from the NTP to build new rural areas; More than 748 billion VND of career capital to support production development, transfer of science and technology applications, development of value chain linkages, mechanization, collective economic development, digital transformation, management, protection and development of forests; nearly 350 billion VND for new construction, upgrading and repair of irrigation infrastructure works, rural roads, forest planting and care, etc.
According to the assessment of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the policies have closely followed the actual development situation of localities, created conditions for people to access capital sources and have been responded to and contributed by people for implementation, creating a driving force for socio-economic development, economic and labor restructuring, improving infrastructure, improving the material and spiritual life of people in rural areas...
Notably, from the central reserve fund and the local budget allocated more than 1,465 billion VND for the period of 2021 - 2025, the whole province supports the development of high-tech agricultural production, smart agriculture, sustainable production adapting to climate change; converting crop and livestock varieties; transferring science and technology applications; digital transformation; developing collective economy, cooperative economy and linking production with product consumption; developing industries and craft villages; product brands; trade promotion; supporting vaccines and chemicals to prevent and control animal diseases, protect crops; protect and develop forests; restore forest cover; invest in and upgrade infrastructure for natural disaster prevention and control.
As a result, up to now, the total agricultural production area of the whole province is 337,934 hectares, accounting for 91.8% of the total planned agricultural production land area, corresponding to a total cultivated area of 413,185 hectares, of which the annual crop cultivation coefficient is 2.21 times; the quality of crop and livestock varieties has been improved, new varieties with high productivity and quality adaptable to natural conditions have been put into use; high-tech agricultural production and smart technology have expanded the area by 72,100 hectares (1,000 hectares of smart agriculture); the production area with a value of less than 50 million VND/ha/year has decreased to 17,200 hectares, accounting for 5.2% of the cultivated area. Thereby, the average production value has been increased to 372 million VND/ha/year, 1.9 times higher than in 2020.
In addition, collective economic activities with more than 50% of cooperatives classified as good and fair; developing 275 production chains with the participation of 210 enterprises and 112 cooperatives, raising the proportion of agricultural products consumed in the whole province through the chain to over 65% of the total harvested output. Over 400 OCOP products and 800 products using the brand "Da Lat - Miraculous crystallization from good land" have contributed to affirming the position of Lam Dong agricultural products in 50 countries around the world, agricultural exports account for more than 50% of the province's export turnover. In addition, on average each year, the number of violations, forest area, and volume of damaged forest products decreased by over 20% compared to the previous year; planting 52.9 million trees of all kinds, reaching 105.8% of the plan, 2,050 hectares of concentrated forests; forest coverage rate 54.37%.
