Since the beginning of the year, the Provincial People's Committee has resolutely directed units to speed up the implementation of investment projects to build infrastructure for industrial clusters; and increase investment attraction in industrial zones and clusters.

With the determination to further improve the business investment environment, increase the score and ranking of the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), and at the same time promote the development of the number of newly established enterprises, improve the quality, scale and efficiency of enterprises in the province, the Provincial People's Committee has focused on directing administrative reforms; organizing the review of non-budget investment projects, and removing difficulties and obstacles for enterprises and investors.

Since the end of 2024, the Provincial People's Committee has approved the Project to improve the business support policy index in Bac Kan province from the PCI perspective to propose specific solutions to improve and enhance the quality of the province's support policies to create conditions for business development, as well as create a favorable investment environment, attracting domestic and foreign investors. Accordingly, since the beginning of the year, 2 more projects have been approved for investment, with a total investment capital of 396 billion VND (including 1 project implemented in Thanh Binh Industrial Park).

According to the Provincial Statistics Office, as of March 26, 2025, the province has granted 30 newly licensed business registrations in the area, an increase of 57.89% over the same period (an increase of 11 businesses), with a total registered investment capital of VND 783.9 billion, an increase of 73.13% compared to the official 3 months of 2024 (an increase of VND 331.12 billion). Of the total newly registered businesses by type, there are 16 limited liability companies and 14 joint stock companies.

However, according to the Provincial Statistics Office, in the first 3 months of 2025, the number of enterprises sending notices of temporary suspension of operations in the province was 35, an increase of 20.69% over the same period (an increase of 6 enterprises). The reason is partly because most of the enterprises in the area are small and medium-sized enterprises, operating based on investments from the state budget, so they lack initiative and sustainable development./.
