On the afternoon of October 4, the Provincial People's Committee held a working session with Power Generation Corporation 3 (GENCO3) to discuss solutions to overcome the impact of landslides on the banks of the Krong No River and to remove obstacles in compensation for land recovered by the State to build the Management and Operation Area of Hydropower Plants on the Srepok River; to deploy the construction of a floating solar power project and social security policies. Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting.
Also attending the meeting were Mr. Le Van Danh - General Director of Power Generation Corporation 3; Mr. Nguyen Thien Van - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of Departments and Offices under GENCO3; leaders of relevant Departments and branches.

At the meeting, Power Generation Corporation 3 discussed with the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of Departments and branches the following contents: Coordination with local authorities to implement solutions to overcome the impact of landslides on the Krong No riverbank in the short term as well as in the long term; Removing obstacles to resolve compensation for land recovered by the State to build the project of the Management and Operation Area of hydropower plants on the Srepok River; Report on the investment preparation status of the floating solar power project on the Buon Kuop hydropower reservoir (50MW) and the Srepok 3 hydropower reservoir (50MW); Social security work in the province.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Van Danh - General Director of Power Generation Corporation 3 said that the unit will allocate funds to support people affected by riverbank erosion in Lak district and Krong Ana district; coordinate with local authorities to determine the cause of erosion, develop solutions to overcome the impact of Krong No riverbank erosion in the short term as well as in the long term.

In addition, the Corporation will pay attention to and implement many social security policies to share some of the difficulties of local people, especially those affected by the landslide of Krong No River in Lak district; Continue to strictly implement the provisions of the law on land, environmental protection, and water resources for hydropower projects located in the province.
To prepare for investment in floating solar power projects on Buon Kuop hydropower reservoir (50MW) and Srepok 3 hydropower reservoir (50MW), the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee is requested to support procedures in case the Government issues a Decision approving the update and supplementation of the Planning and Implementation Plan of the Power Plan VIII.

Comrade Pham Ngoc Nghi - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee thanked the Corporation for accompanying the province to solve the problem of overcoming the impact of landslides on the banks of the Krong No River; participating in social security work in the province. To develop a solution to overcome the impact of landslides on the banks of the Krong No River, the Lak District People's Committee was requested to develop a compensation plan for the people; the Provincial Police Department was requested to coordinate with the locality to continue to inspect the situation of sand mining in the prohibited area;
In the long term, the Provincial People's Committee will establish a valuation team and a consulting team to assess and determine the causes of landslides on the banks of the Krong No River; regarding the removal of obstacles to resolve the compensation for land recovered by the State to build the Management and Operation Area of Hydropower Plants on the Srepok River, the City People's Committee is requested to assign the Buon Ma Thuot City Land Fund Development Center to provide specific land valuation services according to regulations;

Regarding the proposal to invest in 2 floating solar power projects, the Provincial People's Committee supports the policy to supplement the local electricity source. In case the Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and relevant ministries and branches have a policy to adjust the Power Plan VIII, adjust the Power Plan VIII implementation plan, in which there is a requirement for localities to supplement grid-connected solar power sources on hydropower reservoirs, the Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches and localities will consider, advise and propose to ensure compliance with regulations.
