U.22 Vietnam arrived in China safely

On the morning of March 18, U.22 Vietnam arrived in China to prepare for the CFA Team China International U.22 tournament, which will take place from March 20 to 25 in Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province, China. The temperature in Jiangsu is relatively cold, similar to the weather conditions in Hanoi. Therefore, coach Dinh Hong Vinh and his team did not have any difficulty adapting.

After completing immigration procedures, U.22 Vietnam returned to the hotel to rest, before going to the field to practice and get used to the competition conditions to prepare for the competitions at the international U.22 tournament.

The players quickly arrived at the Gangfu Junlan Grand Hotel - the accommodation arranged for the guest teams including Vietnam, Uzbekistan and Korea.

The squad of 25 players led by acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh will continue to gain valuable experiences towards the 2026 AFC U-23 qualifiers and the 33rd SEA Games.

This is the second consecutive time that U.22 Vietnam has participated in the CFA Team China international U.22 friendly tournament, after the first time in 2024. This year's tournament is considered to be a quality "test of fire" for coach Dinh Hong Vinh and his team, when facing strong opponents such as U.22 Korea, U.22 Uzbekistan and host U.22 China.

Match schedule of U.22 Vietnam

According to the schedule, U.22 Vietnam will play its opening match against U.22 Korea at 2:30 p.m. on March 20. Then at 6:35 p.m. on March 22, U.22 Vietnam will face U.22 Uzbekistan. The final match of U.22 Vietnam will take place at 6:35 p.m. on March 25, against host U.22 China.

Not only is this tournament a test for U.22 Vietnam, it is also part of the long-term plan of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), with a roadmap built early to best prepare for the 2026 U.23 Asian qualifiers as well as the 33rd SEA Games.

After a week of training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, U.22 Vietnam has become familiar with the training requirements set by Mr. Kim Sang-sik and acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh. In particular, the new players, including Vietnamese-American midfielder Viktor Le, have adapted well to the special requirements.

However, there are still players who have not fully met the professional requirements of the coaching staff and need to make more efforts in the international friendly series in China.
