On the morning of May 13, at Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port, Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City, the fixed passenger transport route from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao and vice versa on the super ship Thang Long invested by Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company was officially launched.
From today (May 13), passengers traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao (Ba Ria-Vung Tau) and vice versa will have the option of traveling by speedboat.
The vehicle put into operation on this sea route will be the Thang Long Super Speedboat with 1,017 seats, with a capacity equal to 3 Boeing 787s. The Thang Long Supership is equipped with modern facilities, applying the latest technologies manufactured by Vietnamese engineers. The ship has a total of 4 floors, 2 Eco cabin floors, 1 VIP cabin, and a top floor dedicated to 'Café Roof Top'.

According to the operating unit, in Ho Chi Minh City, the ship will pick up passengers and depart from Hiep Phuoc Port (Nha Be District) at 7:00 a.m. For the convenience of passengers, the company will initially arrange a shuttle bus from 23/9 Park, departing at 5:00 - 5:20 a.m. to Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port (Nha Be District) or a speedboat from Bach Dang Wharf (District 1) to Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port (Nha Be District).
In Con Dao, the ship will pick up passengers at 1:00 p.m. every day at Ben Dam port.
This is a new passenger transport route, with a travel time of about 5 hours, the expected ticket price for the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route will be from 615,000 VND to 1.1 million VND/trip, depending on the passenger, ticket class and departure time.

Previously, the Ministry of Transport and the Vietnam Maritime Administration approved the proposal to allow a trial operation of a passenger transport route by ship on the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route.
Passenger transport by sea on the route Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao and vice versa will be tested until the end of March 2025.
