Tuy Phong solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the district's re-establishment.

This morning (June 1), Tuy Phong District Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the district's re-establishment (June 1, 1983 - June 1, 2023). Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Hoai Anh - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; comrade Nguyen Hong Hai - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of departments, branches and localities, former leaders of the province, leaders of Tuy Phong district through the periods...

Tuy Phong district was established under Decision No. 204-HDBT dated December 30, 1982 of the Council of Ministers on the basis of separation from Bac Binh district. After re-establishment, Tuy Phong district has 10 communes and towns; natural area of 778.6 km2; average population by 2021 is 146,231 people.

Tuy Phong District Party Secretary Nguyen Dan said that the Party Committee and people of Tuy Phong have gradually overcome difficulties and challenges, accelerated the pace of socio-economic development, turning Tuy Phong from a district heavily affected by the war, an arid land, with plenty of sun and wind, lack of rain and water, and where people's lives were still lacking, into a district with quite comprehensive development in all fields. After 40 years of re-establishment, Tuy Phong has overcome difficulties, risen strongly, and achieved many important and quite comprehensive achievements. Notably, the total food output by 2022 reached more than 28,300 tons.

Some key crops such as grapes and apples are growing strongly. Budget revenue reached more than 386 billion VND, 136 times higher than when the district was re-established. The energy industry is developing strongly, especially renewable energy. The district has Vinh Tan Power Center with 4 factories with a total capacity of 4,244 MW, 2 wind power plants, 9 solar power plants, ... contributing to ensuring national energy security. The marine economy continues to be exploited and promoted, with seafood output in 2022 reaching more than 58,400 tons. Tourism activities, especially eco-tourism and resort tourism, are developing, with some locations and landscapes highly appreciated by tourists...

Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hoai Anh assessed that the district has focused on attracting and investing in developing industrial and handicraft production. Especially, taking advantage of the sun and wind to develop the energy industry. Tourism has been gradually promoted with many famous places and landscapes. Agricultural production has gradually developed and stabilized, in which shrimp seed production is the strength of the district, the quality and brand have been affirmed nationwide...

In the coming time, many new opportunities and chances are opening up for Tuy Phong to develop strongly, but there are also many difficulties and challenges. The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested the Party Committee, the government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and the people of Tuy Phong district to continue to consolidate, maintain and promote the district's precious traditions, maintain solidarity and unity within the Party Committee, government and people. On the other hand, it is necessary to promote the highest role, responsibility and efforts of the political system, the joint efforts and consensus of all classes of people to create a comprehensive strength, important endogenous resources for rapid and sustainable development. The district needs to be proactive, have appropriate solutions, effectively exploit the natural, cultural and social conditions of the district to attract investment resources, and innovate the growth model. At the same time, restructure the industries and fields in which the district has potential and advantages. Encourage and support farmers and businesses to apply scientific and technical advances in cultivation, production, processing and product consumption.

The Chairman of Tuy Phong District People's Committee presented certificates of merit to 15 collectives and 17 individuals with outstanding achievements in the socio-economic development of the locality.
