Attending the award were Vice President of Vietnam Journalists Association Tran Trong Dung; Mr. Phan Toan Thang, Member of the Executive Committee of Vietnam Journalists Association, Chief of Office of Vietnam Journalists Association, Head of the Award Organizing Committee; Ms. Tran Tuyet Minh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee; leaders of Party press agencies, Journalists Association of the Southeast region. Attending the ceremony of Binh Thuan Journalists Association were Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association Le Hong Van; Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Binh Thuan Newspaper, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association Bui Thanh Quang and the award-winning authors.

The award is held annually to promptly honor and encourage journalists, reporters, editors, collaborators and resident reporters at press agencies in the Southeast region with excellent quality works published in 2024.

According to the Organizing Committee, the participants of the Award include journalists, members of the Journalists Association, and reporters working at press agencies in the provinces in the region such as Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Thuan, with works that fully meet the award rules.

This year, the Organizing Committee received nearly 200 entries in 4 journalism categories. After the preliminary round, 80 best entries were selected for the Final Round, in which the Jury decided to award 22 prizes, including: 2 First prizes, 4 Second prizes, 6 Third prizes and 10 Encouragement prizes.


Participating in this competition, Binh Thuan Journalists Association won 3 prizes. The second prize went to the TV report "Binh Thuan: 10 years of finding an outlet for ash and slag", author group: Truong Minh Chuong, Le Nguyen Huu Tuong, Ha Ba Nha, Le Ngoc Hung, Nguyen Vu Duong Van - Binh Thuan Radio and Television Station. 2 consolation prizes went to the 4-part series "Forest protection - survival" by author Kieu Hang - Binh Thuan Newspaper and the 3-part radio report "Binh Thuan focuses on removing the IUU yellow card" by author group: Nguyen Phuc Khanh, Nguyen Phan Hai Long, Nguyen Anh Quoc, Le Ngoc Thanh Mai, Le Hoang Son - Binh Thuan Radio and Television Station.

According to the Jury, many of the award-winning works have high discovery, rich sources of information and unique perspectives, contributing to creating healthy competition among authors, while raising professional standards of regional journalism. In addition to common socio-economic topics, many works focus on exploiting everyday stories rich in humanity or less-noticed issues such as preserving ethnic minority culture, sustainable development and the environment.
Speaking at the award ceremony, journalist Tran Trong Dung - Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Head of the Award Steering Committee emphasized: The 3rd Southeast Region Press Award has achieved proud results. This is an important event to honor the contributions of journalists in the region in spreading the image, potential and achievements of the Southeast region. The entries not only truthfully and vividly reflect the reality of the locality and region but also contribute to orienting public opinion, encouraging the spirit of solidarity and consensus of the people and Party committees and authorities at all levels to overcome difficulties, towards the goal of sustainable development...

Following the success, the 4th Southeast Journalism Award is scheduled to be held in 2026 with 4 types of journalism (print, electronic, radio and television). The Organizing Committee hopes that the Award will continue to attract a large number of journalists in the region to participate, gradually affirming its position as a professional and prestigious playground, not only for members of the Southeast Journalists Association but also expanding to all journalists nationwide.

On this occasion, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper awarded 50 scholarships to support poor students in Binh Phuoc province, and the Vietnam Traffic Safety Association presented 300 helmets to the award-winning journalists.
