VNA - On the afternoon of April 23, at the Hoang Sa Fleet Exhibition House, which is also in charge of Bac Hai, Ly Son district, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province coordinated with the People's Committee of Ly Son district to organize an exhibition of sea and island cultural heritage . This is one of the activities within the framework of Quang Ngai Tourism Week 2024. The exhibition displays nearly 200 images and artifacts related to the nature, culture and people of Ly Son island district. Typical are the collection of artifacts on production tools associated with community life, unique intangible cultural heritages unique to Ly Son, Tu Linh boat racing festival, Hoang Sa soldier's memorial ceremony, documents on sea exploitation activities and the struggle to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the islanders. In addition, the exhibition also displays many antiques of the Sa Huynh culture ; documents, images, maps and materials "Hoang Sa, Truong Sa of Vietnam - Historical and legal evidence" and typical and famous culinary products of localities in the province. The exhibition aims to honor, introduce and promote traditional cultural values that have long been preserved and developed by Ly Son people to many domestic and foreign tourists. At the same time, raise awareness of officials and people, especially the young generation, about the sense of protecting sovereignty over seas and islands; promote the image of the country and people of Quang Ngai in general, Ly Son in particular. From there, effectively exploit the strengths of Quang Ngai's seas and islands, attract investment and develop tourism. The exhibition has attracted many tourists and people of Ly Son to visit and learn. Ms. Le Thi The, a tourist from Long An province, said: This is the first time she has come to Ly Son island and it is on the occasion of Quang Ngai Tourism Week. She was very impressed with the agricultural and fishing tools related to the daily life and production of Ly Son people. This is not only a beautiful, pristine island, but also a locality rich in cultural traditions. The more people learn about this land, the more they love and are proud of their homeland's sea and islands. Chairwoman of Ly Son District People's Committee Pham Thi Huong emphasized that through this event, people and tourists will know more about the history, culture, and people of Ly Son, about the natural beauty and heroic spirit of our ancestors in the cause of protecting Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos. Thereby contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of everyone for the work of preserving and promoting the value of sea and island cultural heritage, contributing to promoting tourism development , making tourism a key economic sector, aiming to concretize the Party's orientations on developing Ly Son into a center of sea and island tourism.
