Two young men broke their own penises while they were erect, causing severe pain, swelling, and deformity, and they had to go to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Doctor Nguyen Huu Thao - Andrology Center, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital - said that doctors had just received two patients, NVT (17 years old) and NTH (27 years old). The two patients came to the hospital with swollen, purple-black, deformed, and painful penises.

According to these two young men, when they saw their "little guys" erect early in the morning, they tried to use their hands to reduce the erection, but because they used too much force, it led to injury.

After examination and necessary tests, the patient was diagnosed with a penile fracture and underwent immediate surgery. This is an emergency in urology.

Dr. Thao performed emergency surgery to clean the blood clot and suture the patient. Fortunately, both patients were hospitalized and treated promptly, helping the treatment process go smoothly, and their functions recovered very well.

Doctor Thao added that the most common cause of penile fracture is incorrect sexual intercourse, and self-fracture is less common. For patients who self-fracture, the cause is often due to an erection in the early morning. The patient tries to reduce this condition but uses too much force, leading to serious injury.

If not treated promptly, trauma can cause fibrous tissue formation, deformation of the penis, erectile dysfunction, and future sexual dysfunction.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang, Director of the Andrology Center - Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, added that the Andrology Center regularly provides emergency care and treatment for patients with male diseases, of which penile fracture is a common emergency.

Early treatment and emergency care improve recovery and reduce the risk of future complications.

Doctors recommend that men should not have rough impacts on their "little guy" when it is erect.

Self-inflicted or habitual penis bending can lead to microscopic damage, long-term formation of fibrous tissue that deforms the penis. In severe cases, self-inflicted penis bending can cause penile fracture, greatly affecting the patient's health, quality of life, and family happiness.
