Due to the influence of nature, the water level around the island rises every year, greatly affecting the lives of the people here. That is also the reason why many people decide to leave the country, only a few families try to stay.
Life on the island is no longer peaceful. All kinds of troubles are happening, reflecting the hidden corners of the souls of people facing great changes in society. There is the couple Dau (Dinh Toan) - Do (Hong Anh) who are addicted to gossiping about the village; there is Mr. Hai Ben (Quang Thao) and Mrs. Tu Ghe (Hoang Trinh) - to hide their love in old age, they pretend to be neighbors who do not like each other, often arguing fiercely; there is Mr. Sau Qua (Quoc Thinh) - a commune militia officer, who often chases Mrs. Ba Hen (Thanh Thuy) for gambling, even though he loves this woman very much in his heart...
To “resolve” the existence of conflicting relationships, Mr. Hai Ben made a plan to rebuild the village relationship, recreate the living space, exchange, and rekindle the neighborly love that has existed for so long. Mr. Hai secretly carried out that plan, he asked his close friend to help, pretending to be a feng shui master, presenting the difficult problems that the people were facing. To resolve the great disaster of rising water that would gradually submerge the island, the whole island must unite, by all means organize a wedding within a month…
Through the journey of implementing Mr. Hai Ben's plan, many secrets and unexpected relationships of the couples gradually revealed, creating interesting surprises for the lives of the islanders. The comedy situations were performed harmoniously and reasonably through poetic responses and dialogues. In particular, the happy ending of the story is imbued with the colors of Southern cultural life, honoring the beauty of the inherent honesty, generosity, and affection of the people here.
